OKC trades Serge Ibaka to Orlando...

I don't like this move for the Thunder at all, why trade a starter to get a guy and use him as a backup?


They need a starting level PF now too, Ersan was trash last year.

They could go after Horford if they get rid of Kanter

Not sure how anyone can not like this trade for OKC.

Ibaka played fine in the playoffs, there's less than 5 PF's in the league that can shoot the three and block shots.

They already had a championship team

Their only obstacle in the West was GS and they had them on the ropes. Thanks in large part to Serge being long and athletic enough to play the 5 and give Draymond hell

Probably because they felt they needed a third option and Ibaka wasn't cutting it. Although Oladipo probably won't start he'll still get close to 30 minutes.

There's definitely a big hole there defensively but they will still have more than enough depth to cover the 4. It'll be interesting to see if they try to move Kanter for a more defensive balance.

It's just one of those Presti moves, you trade 1 player for a gang of rotational players and then you turn around & only 1 of them is decent to good, he's done this before and it's worked out once.

Maybe they can move Kanter, if they can't it just becomes a straight up move. My guess would be they're targeting Al Horford in FA if they can move Kanter, cause that's the only PF/C that works with what they have.

I clearly said Ersan, he played for Detroit and their defense got better once they got rid of him, he's not a starting level PF.

Have you seen Sabonis play? He's a monster.

He's not going to be a major contributor for a year or two, you're not winning a title giving a rookie major minutes.

They will miss the defense, but the 3 pointers are whatever at this point.
