It’s a long story, but if anything, he was just suspicious of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis “stealing” and “sharing” his sound.

One of my favorite P stories is that he drove by Jimmy Jam’s momma’s house while Jimmy was there, and threw Janet’s ‘Control’ album out the window at him.

I doubt it. Prince gave them a style to run with, and I never heard about any complaints. He also produced for other artists and never used his real name. And I suspect that sometimes he just let the artist take all the credit.
