Nas debuted at #12 and only sold 59,000 copies which is just 16,000 more than Jay's debut sold, so if nikkas weren't checkin for him then they weren't checkin for Nas either.RD debuted like 27th on the billboard charts... If that doesn't say nikkas wasn't checking for the album back then IDK what will.
I'm pretty sure Jay was likeat the free promotion Pac give him on 7 day theory.
Keep in Mind Nas had the number 1 for like a month and Pac sold 5 milli in a matter of months![]()

Pac stayed dissin Jay so obviously if Pac mentioned him so many times that proves people were checkin for him.
@ you diggin in the crates to bump this old thread in an attempt to prove a point when there's a more recent thread sayin the same shyt about Nas that @StillNotSoft linked you to which you conveniently ignored.

Nas might've had crazy buzz among hip hop heads in NY but he wasn't hyped like that anywhere else, most people never even heard of Jaz-O back then and Jay didn't just put an album out he put a classic out and unlike Nas he did have mainstream radio singles.
