Throwback jerseys killed shiny suits to me. They were still doing shiny suits a few years after x dropped.

Man DMX was without peer from like 98-00 just killing the game. There were other greats out there and good albums don't get me wrong. But, X was something different.

I like X, but this just simply isnt true.

1998-2000.... Jay Z, Nas, Eminem, Snoop, Dre, Nelly all had albums at #1 and selling 400k+ 1st week.

This ain’t true at all and truthfully he already started falling off after his second album.

Em, Jay, snoop, Dre, juve, Nelly, nore, nas was also putting up big numbers and strong albums

Jay aint really change his sound tho....his hit records were Can I Get A, Jigga What, Money aint a Thang and Hard Knock Life....then he had Throw Ya Hands Up, Girls Best Friend, Big Pimpin...he tried to get Things that you do and Anything to pop...he didn't go the X route at all outside of working with Swizz like everybody else. His singles were still glossy as shyt

maybe it's cause I'm not from ny but I never got this vibe that dmx was some revolutionary rapper who changed everything, I just thought he was a dope rapper in an era with a lot of dope rappers. I only ever heard this shyt online tbh

no one came after tryna imitate his style, matter of fact when I first saw him in ruff ryders anthem video I was like who is this fake 2pac lol
