That and no cell phones. The younger crowd just don't know man. Back in the 90's you still had these super racist KKK towns too, if you lived in the south. Some of those places you couldn't even walk through, dead ass

And to think, how many brehs are no longer here with us simply cause they went to the wrong hood or town without any for of GPS or proper direction on the road. :sadcam:

I heard of this incident where this kid got bodied for making the honor roll and people outside his family decided not to search or investigate the murder, simply cause he didn't give in to their bullshyt. :dahell:

These injustices happened more often and without technology, it remained a mystery back then.

Something you young dudes take for granted is being able to check mfers on they lies.
People can't say crazy shyt or they get shut down immediately.

Back in the 90s dudes could say crazy shyt like "I'm the prince of so-n-so and I'm next in line to the throne" and all sorts of shyt and even though you knew they were lying, you couldn't just prove they were lying right there on the spot by looking it up.

Every other dude you met in the 90's would be like "Yeah, The Rock is my cousin" and other straight out lies cause there was no way to call them on it right there.

Maxi singles would have b sides that weren't even on the album sometimes
Yep or a crazy ass remix you never heard before. I had Check Yo' Self/It Was A Good Day with a version of It Was A Good Day with Cube flowing over a sample of Let's Do It Again. I didn't feel it at first, then it grew on me.

They actually played that It Was A Good Day remix on the radio. I had the maxi single for Award Tour and they had a version of The Chase Pt 2 that was only Consequence

How does this mean black kids today have it easy? Cuz its not as much wannabe thugs in the streets anymore?
It's easier to be different now cuz it's cool. I think the whole nerd/geek chic movement came about in response to the previous generation getting fukked with. If word got out you fukked with anime, comic books and shyt, you would get the living dog shyt teased out of you. People fukked with you for talking "proper" or reading for pleasure.

And computers? shyt, the only shyt you fukked a computer for was for cheat codes, music, or to look at some titties. Building and programming them was considered nerdy white boy shyt.

If you missed a call you might never know who it was

Having to go out and find someone in the world if you really wanted to get a hold of them.... otherwise you had to wait for them to get home and hope that someone passed the message along

i was under 18 in the 90s so i didnt get to see all of the R Rated movies.

Having cheap African parents. Didn't have name brand sneakers until 7th grade :mjcry: Doesn't bode well for a kid in the label obsessed 90s.

Wasn't old enough to go to The Tunnel

Want new music? Take your ass to the record store :francis:

I almost forgot about this one. Caller ID is taken for granted now. LOL at people calling private, always ends up being some chick trying to get my attention.

If you missed an episode of a show, that was it. You were fukked. No dvd boxsets... no netflix... no hulu.

And if a show you wanted to see came on in the morning at say 7:00am... but you needed to leave at 7:15 to be at the bus stop to get to school on time, you might go all year watching the first 15 minutes of a show with no recolection of any conclussions whatsoever.

Thats almost torture for a young breh.:mjcry:

I know how you feel. I had to wait until they put the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on Netflix to see the episodes I missed because my mom would make us turn the tv off during a storm. She was old school as hell and we weren't allowed to move from the sofa either. I missed so many episodes of Goosebumps, Bill Nye and the X-Men because of her. Being a kid in the 90s was awesome and sucked at the same time for me. :damn:
