Violence was bad back then. Brehs wanted to be super thugs and hardcore criminals because it was cool and got all the love back then.

Back then, cats got sent to the hospital because they got good grades in school and jumped after the last bell rang for the day. :mindblown: Being book smart was not only not cool, but you were made a constant target.

Crabs in a barrel was in full effect. Every black man had to get their :birdman: expression on to not look "soft" and any area you weren't familiar with, other brehs wanted to fight you. There was no "swag" back then to fall back on; you either were a comedian, or a thug. That's it. Or else your ass was food.

Black women who came up in that era, wanted Tupac and any street dude with a record. If you weren't doing work in the streets, most women in general passed by you. That's what I respect the 90s babies chick's for: growing up in the Kanye West era where black men actually smiled and we're human. The 70s and 80s chick's were the ones that wanted the ruffneck dudez.
So true. I remember my sisters had friends who were in love with members of the Wu when they first came out

And not just Meth :mjlol:

because of gps and cell phones these youngings have no idea how bad women were with directions.

"Drive down 2 or 3 blocks and you'll see a kinda crooked stop sign, you'll make a left there. Then you'll see a tall tree next to a much shorter one and my place is right next to it"
Hell yea. You hand to have landmarks on deck

Couple more things, remember when you would finally get that new SNES/SEGA and your mom aint cop the RF adapter so you could hook it up through the tv, and you had to spend all day trying to figure out how to hook it up to the damn VCR (thank god for hdmi)

On the same note, remember when people aint have cable, and you had to spend all day adjusting the bunny ears to get a signal :mjcry:

Lastly, for my folks that remember the old tvs with two dial nobs

old-television.jpg

and one of them bytches fell off, you had to find a set of pliers just to change the damn channel.(on a second note, fukk those tvs for being so hard to change the channel)
If you wanted to go to a station higher than 13 you had to turn the top knob to U first
:wow:

If you missed an episode of a show, that was it. You were fukked. No dvd boxsets... no netflix... no hulu.

And if a show you wanted to see came on in the morning at say 7:00am... but you needed to leave at 7:15 to be at the bus stop to get to school on time, you might go all year watching the first 15 minutes of a show with no recolection of any conclussions whatsoever.

Thats almost torture for a young breh.:mjcry:
damn:mjcry:

glad i didnt have to go trough that :whew:
:blessed:

It was like being a thug got a hoes p*ssy wet by default. :mindblown:

I had a natural mean mug that I learned from the mid 90s, that I didn't fully correct until a few years ago :bryan: . It was traumatizing back then. Had to be "real" by being connecting something to be street.

this was so true :smh:..this was my experience...thank god i had educated hands though

Black kids have it soooo easy today. They can see a black president, their peers going to college as the norm, and so on. Back then, it was always be " looked up by 16 and bead by 25" statistic for a black male, on top of day to day battle of going against police, ignorant thugs who are c00ns, and bird ass women. When I hit 30, 5 years ago, that was the last part of the statistic that died.:blessed:

1.) Living in the hood in the early 90's. :damn: Didn't learn how to ride a bike at the right age because it was too violent to play outside. I lived on a hill too and at the bottom of the hill was the dope track. :whoa: Nintendo was my best friend because I couldn't play outside past the front driveway. Oceanview Park in Lakeview, SF was mainey as fukk. :demonic: Couldn't play at any of the neighborhood parks. Wild pitbulls roamed the streets because nikkas would fight their dogs at the park and leave them there because they thought they were dead. :lupe: Bullets came through the windows of the house on more than one occasion.

2.) Having a strict mom trying to shelter you despite living in the ghetto. :childplease: The 90's were a time of groundbreaking controversial classic entertainment. Mom wouldn't let me watch the damn Simpsons. :bryan: Back in 91', if you were an 8 year old kid, you wanted to watch the Simpsons. Mom wouldn't buy me any CD's or tapes with parental advisory stickers. I memorized all the words to Doggystyle edited from recording most of the songs off the radio. :heh: :ohlawd:

3.) Parents couldn't afford expensive video game systems, clothes and shoes all the time. $100 was worth hella more back then. I wanted a Sega Genesis so bad back in 91', but moms and pops said "no". :mjcry: Wearing J's as a regular kid in the hood? :mjpls: Forget about it. Wearing J's wear I'm from made you a target to get beat up, robbed or worse. Only d-boys had J's when I was a lil kid. :francis:

Word not just that but 90s games didn't give a damn about making a kid cry aint no Trophies bih! Either you beat the game or you LOSE!

M. Bison beating me 20times in a row had me :damn:screaming at the TV mad. Grandma outside my room looking at me like :what::usure:"something wrong with you boy!" Finally beat M. Bison later but grandma think I'm crazy.
No lie, me and my brother get the SNES and SF2 to the crib and we like :blessed:. We smoke through everybody else, then get to M. Bison's ass and we both :sadbron:. We taking turns trying to beat that fakkit. I lost count after battle 96 :francis:
