Huh?! That wasn’t Jodeci’s second album. This was and it’s a classic R&B album.

1996, I was a freshman at LSU. I was into all hip hop. I wasn’t about to choose a Coast. I played Mobb Deep, Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie, Wu-Tang, Tupac, Snoop, Dogg Pound, MC Eiht, etc.

:comeon:

Anyway, All Eyez on Me and Muddy Waters by Redman were my clique’s go to smoke session albums. I can’t remember what was popular in the clubs then, but I remember when Elevators by OutKast dropped, it changed the game. That shyt got played 3 times in a row at a club one night and errrrrbody was singing the hook and vibing out.

:blessed::wow:

Me personally that G Funk was tired after Snoop peaked it was more choosing a sound not a coast

But A LOT of G-Funk sample sources were also used by east coast artist. So was it really the sound?

I can post numerous examples like this. No diss, but I feel like a lot of people chose a coast and tried to justify it with other reasons. West Coast dudes were spitting too, so it wasn’t that...

Until you posted that I never thought Black Moon had a GFunk style and I’m still :patrice:

From my recollection it wasn't like anything

In the circles I ran in a joint that was 1/2 R and B like that didn't mean a thing

I wasn't in a place where Pac was some heroic legend. He was aiight and that particular joint was one of an ocean of okay songs that were floating around out there

My folks got excited when.someone came out that could spit molten lava. Anything less was just part of the background radiation
