Old School vs New School Why is there no respect?

Why is it only in hip-hop that the youngings have no respect for those that paved the way for them. Your favorite rappers are in their late 30s and early 40s except for camel. You don't see this type of disrespect in any other genre of music. Is it ignorance? Discuss. I'm waiting for the poor lame comeback of flabby and sick which was taken from a 2pac line as a diss to de la soul lol

the rappers are in there 30s and 40s, but for the most part, the fans are mostly under 30. the older hip hop fans dont have any connection to or give a fukk about any of these new kids. they have their own era of piff.

it's always been that way in hiphop. hiphop is generational. think about how all them cats felt when the "new" rappers started coming out - wu, fugees, big, nas, jay ... in comparison to the legends before them: grandmaster flash and the furious five, Kool Moe Dee, sugar hill gang, Run–D.M.C. Eric B, Big Daddy Kane to name a few - those cats and that generation was SALTY when the 90s era came in. Both the artists + the fans were saying that "kids didn't respect the originators."

True I won't deny that but later you still had like Dr. Dre made a few tracks for an album for Rakim, 2pac gave a tribute to the old school and even had Big Daddy Kane on a unreleased song, J Dilla and so on gave respect back. So white kids don't count? Its not just buying, its downloading, discussing, debating the music. It's mostly younger people.
