Exactly. The Knicks need a plan and system to go towards and wit. Thibs I’m definitely hopeful he’s gonna try and start everything with the defense . With that being said we also need to build with pieces that we think would work with RJ and Mitch if we believe They are the cornerstones . FVV fits a need we definitely have . He can also play with frank most likely or even ( ugh ) Elfrid and he makes our perimeter defense better and that has to help out Mitch who will be able to focus more on rim protection , let’s Rj ( who isn’t a bad defender) also get to focus with his length .
Seems like you would chase FVV if you're a contender. Can someone explain a positive for the Knicks doing this?

Yes he serves a need for the team . Some of the players you guys are suggesting make no sense if you want to build around Rj and Mitch . You need people like FVV to even be a good team

FVV is only 25, shown his value, addresses problems we have and has champion pedigree, I wouldn't be against him coming here. Him and Frank would be a good pair going forward if Frank continues to improve his shooting and the spacing and Mitch's ability to rim run would be better on the floor. All we would need to add after would be a stretch 4 which we could use our picks to draft or sign one. If we get rid of Randle in addition to this we'd be infinitely better than last season and allow RJ to develop comfortably going forward. :yeshrug:

I’m shocked so many of y’all don’t want FVV. He’s a perfect fit. 22 is the new 17 mil a year. My only thing is i don’t want to pay for him if he’s the only starter we’re adding this off season. He only works if we spend the other 20 million on a starter that compliments RJ and Mitch and has us competing next season to attract a star in 21. FVV is a piece that can play along literally any star you can think of. And if a star wants to bring their own teammates, his versatility will make him easy to trade.
FVV
Draft Pick or Frank
RJ
FA Stretch 4
Mitch
Is a team that can compete for the playoffs next season all the while not impeding the development of RJ Mitch and the pick since FVV or whatever stretch 4 we sign of the available (Wood, Bertans or Gallo) arent high usage guys who need to ISO or take 25 shots a game to be effective.

The east will be better next season and we'd need our young guys to take a leap/lunge in order to compete for the offs. Other than that, I'm in total agreement

in what way?
He closed the 2019 NBA Finals.

He averaged 17/4/6 with 2 steals and shot 39% from 3 on nearly 7 attempts and he’s one of the best defensive guards in basketball.

He can shoot, he has quickness, he has strength, he can run P&R’s, he can defend on-ball and was the league leader in deflections this year off-ball. On offense he can also play on and off the ball.

He’s only 25 years old. What is the problem?

We gotta eventually stop relying on getting better through the draft and losing all the time. It's not like son is old or something he'd without question help the direction of the team. Or should look to more tanking after getting screwed in the lottery constantly?
