What separates Bam and AD, two guys who started as rim runners is their hidden guard like skillsets on offense. As it stands, Mitchell is not disciplined enough to guard the perimeter, he’s a great shot blocker of perimeter jumpers though. But offense matters and that’s where Bam and AD separate themselves.

The rim runner archetype is slowly losing its value. Montrezz might be out in LA, Houston traded Capela, Utah and Gobert are in a sticky situation.

This is an article before Nic Claxton and Jaxson Hayes were drafted.

Claxton at least has a bit of an outside shot or a developing one as does Mo Bamba. But the rim runners archetype is being re-evaluated by GM’s.

Let’s not overrate Mitch...

Yes, the Heat and Lakers DEFENSE is tied to Bam and ADs offense. :dahell:
You’re right that he’s not disciplined enough right now but the reason you’re saying that is because you can CLEARLY see that his ridiculous athleticism NOT just vertically means that he has the capacity to be another game changer on defense. Something that only 5 players TOPS in the league can do at that position.

The entire reason GMs are souring on rim runners is because teams are smart enough to put them in pick and roll situations that make them useless on the perimeter. Mitch has very real potential to be one of the few centers you can’t do that against. Not saying that he should be untradeable but that’s NOT something you find in every draft, stop it.

Again these are moot points as long as Mitch continues fouling 5 times per 36 minutes...

U can find rim runners that move well in every draft. Wiseman will be mostly a rim runner although he can do more, Onyeka is the premier rim runner with shades of Bam minus the playmaking, Precious is a rim runner that moves really well, you can go Nick Richards in the second round if you wanna go real raw (pause). :dame:

We agree Mitch isn't untradeable

Part of me wants to trade Mitch for Lamelo or Edwards just for you to come here in a year and tell us how they’ll never be good shooters and how much they suck...

post your evidence
His %'s in his last season didn't look good but it's important to note it was a 12 game sample size and he was a teen playing against grown men and his shot selection will be reigned in at the next level, he also shoots well in catch and shoots historically.

He's a shifty shot creator with range, he makes tough off the dribble perimeter shots. His % is not as important because his volume and range give him gravity (think Marcus Smart) and there's no reason why he can't be an efficient high volume three point shooter one day.

Maybe when he was a kid he couldn't defend or showed no interest in it but that's no longer the case. He has above average size around 6'7/6'8 which makes him extra switchable and he has a great nose for the ball off the glass and in the passing lanes. He has shown especially when engaged to be a + defender.

This kid got confidence and he's real instinctual especially as a passer and cutter and we need shot creation in the worst way and he's a good shot creator and creative passer, best passer in the draft, he would transform us in transition. From the looks of it he put on mass too.

I wouldn't do that.

I like Mitch, I don't like Ntilikina and Knox.

Don't make me out to be a hater of youth. There's many young Knicks players I've rooted for over the years.

These Westbrook rumors. :scust:

Westbrook's game has a ton of flaws - no doubt.

If they can get him for spare parts(I.E. Randle + random junk + a throwaway pick or two) I'd have no issue bringing him in. The Knicks need to stop being a fukking embarrassment on the court.

Westbrook shouldn’t be a Knick under any circumstances.
