That Lou/Trez pick and roll is devastating for a lot of teams to stop so I’m not to bummed with this loss. It’s what got the clippers into the playoffs last year when everyone thought they’d be a mid lottery team.
I’m less concerned about that. Spurs offered him a bench role. We offered him a starting one last minute. I doubt he’d do that again.I want Marcus here as much as the next guy...but at what price point does he ask to return? And even if we offer it to him...he's reneged twice already. There's no guarantee he'll honor his word.
Not talking about a complete benching here, but more development time for the younger guys. i do think he would be willing.Would he really take a seat?
It’s clowns like Glen “Big Baby” Davis talkingCP3 probably only respects players who really care about the game
He seems like a tough love type of teammate

I don’t think you can sign him again because of something in the CBA but I could be mistaken.Actually, this is the type of draft where you’ll find talent late. The prospects are so close in talent this year that nobody really knows who’s really top 10. Alot of teams will probably just draft for need. A good player will be had in the 20s. You have to trade Morris. Keeping him to miss the playoffs makes no sense and would be Malpractice. Especially when you can just sign him again this off season if he really wants to be in ny

This draft sucks. I have zero doubt we will find a player and develop him enough to be a valuable contributor past his first NBA contract. Whoever we draft and develop will likely be a guy you can easily find in free agency.![]()
You have a problem with insinuating things no one is saying. No one wants Morris to leave but it's a combination of him outplaying his contract and his history of making decisions for himself that benefit him. Morris wasn't offered a chance to play for a title contender before he came to us. His backing out on the Spurs could very well have the same damaging effects on us if a title contender is able to offer him more money. These are things that very much have to be in your mind when deciding whether to move him before the trade deadline. I hope you're not suggesting Marcus is untradeablemorris should stay
yall so quick to chase away players that we didnt draft.
the man has exceeded expectations, and he could easily request a trade and compete for a ring this year on several different teams.
instead he wants to stay with us, must be the melo in him. that needs to be embraced. its horrible look if we trade him away. and if he bashes us on da way out, i wouldnt hold it against him

Still would trade him for Thybulle and picks or Shamet and a 1st round pickI'm completely on the fence with Morris. He's been absolutely great and my only concern is that his efficiency feels unsustainable with how challenging the shots he makes are...but he just keeps knocking down everything. Trading him for a late 1st would be a bit disappointing, but losing him for nothing to an overpay would be equally rough. I wish I trusted our front office more because then I'd just count on them to recognize if he'll really come back for a fair price or if a big contract offer from someone else is in the cards. He's playing worth more than we're paying right now imo.
The other thing is that the return on him kinda just becomes another set of fluid trade pieces. A late pick and a second or struggling young guy might give us more pieces for a package, but it feels like those packages aren't as valued anymore. You've gotta give a TON of assets to bring in a known commodity, so you're hoping to hit big on a pick with a low hit-rate to begin with while giving up a veteran in the locker room and someone who has really proven a leader. Yesterday's game, he calmed Randle down after the T and both times we went into scoring droughts, he was the one that came in and made the necessary shots to bring back composure.
Either direction though, I say we ride this to the deadline. More interest will rise, other quality Forwards might come off of the market and he's only been boosting his value every night out. I could see more than one playoff team looking his way as the best chance to make a deep run. The potential for a bidding war is a beautiful thing to hold out for when I might want to just keep him anyway.

The Knicks will have all the leverage as these contenders are desperate, especially the Sixers
What the Knicks should do instead is get rid of Randle and run w/ a LotteryPG/RJ/Knox/Morris/Mitch lineup next year
