We can also promise a more prominent role. He won’t have to share the court with Blake.

Sekou is also looking like he might need minutes at PF. If he stays in Detroit they would likely ask him to play center. Whereas in NY we would let him play his natural position and likely move Randle for a second and an expiring to give him minutes.

Whether they sign Wood or not, I think most of the Knicks fans on this forum would be satisfied if they got rid of that low IQ clown Randle. For pennies on the dollars:hhh:
I’ve never felt more seen as a knicks fan than when Joe Budden started clowning his spin dribble turnovers on the podcast last week. I legit almost choked.

If the Knicks are so enamored with Wood they should lock him up to a longer deal. We repeatedly give out short term contracts with team options on the 2nd year, then get confused when guys come in here and play like mercenaries.

They tryna lock up that next contract and the Knicks offer no security. We've had completely new rosters every season for at least the past 3 years. There's no stability, no consistency and that's how we keep getting the same results no matter who the coach is or who the players are.

If he's worth it pay the man or move on to someone who is. Stop handing out temp jobs and then wondering why guys play no D and selfishly on offense.

I feel Wood is nothing more than a role player capable of stretching the floor averaging 10-12 points and 6-8 rebounds

He's always played great when given a chance, he just hasn't been given much of a chance in the NBA. He put up big #s in college and in the G League and the first time he got an opportunity in the NBA he put up big #s

There aren't many guys with his size and skill set in the league so that should be jumping out to you if you know what to look for

Too small a sample size imo
That's how you end up overpaying guys like Julius Scrambles who put up numbers on a bad team
If end up wrong oh well
He just seems like a role player to me even after watching his highlights or when the Pistons last played the Knicks

Wood has always had the talent so it's not really about the sample size, he just needed to mature and he finally has. Watching highlights really isn't going to tell you much. Randle always had his major flaws. Wood isn't a ball stopper on offense or major liability on defense like Randle. And Wood is built exactly like KD/Giannis not undersized like Randle. Wood really doesn't have any flaws. On offense he can shoot, take bigger guys off the dribble with ease and post up smaller players. On defense he can guard the legit 7 foot centers in the post and he can switch on guards out on the perimeter

he's averaging 13 in his 6th season good but not amazing
I still think he's a role player

Yea in only 21 mpg so when you project those #'s out over starter minutes then boom. Obviously the Knicks wouldn't max him to only play him 20 mpg. And that's another good thing about him he has the conditioning and IQ(not to foul out) to play 36-40 mpg easy. And this was only his 5th season btw lol but that's irrelevant guys bloom at different times
