If the Knicks are so enamored with Wood they should lock him up to a longer deal. We repeatedly give out short term contracts with team options on the 2nd year, then get confused when guys come in here and play like mercenaries.

They tryna lock up that next contract and the Knicks offer no security. We've had completely new rosters every season for at least the past 3 years. There's no stability, no consistency and that's how we keep getting the same results no matter who the coach is or who the players are.

If he's worth it pay the man or move on to someone who is. Stop handing out temp jobs and then wondering why guys play no D and selfishly on offense.

True shyt man. We'e been doing nothing but short term deals in fear of being locked into contracts, but in that, guys are in a permanent state of showcasing for their next contract. If we're signing someone, we really have to sign someone and invest in them. Otherwise, let them go and keep looking for cheap, long term steals like Mitch until you're confident in the core you've built.

I don't mind if Wood surpasses my expectations and ends up putting up numbers
But I don't see star potential from him
I see a guy capable of dropping 10-12 points, helping stretch the floor for Mitch and more importantly RJ
This would also allow the Knicks to run a big lineup of Lottery PG/RJ/Knox/Wood/Mitch w/ Knox being interchangeable at the 3/4
Wood would open up things for everyone
Who is going to take Julius Scrambles?
shyt if we can't trade Julius then bench him and eat the contract, tbh high end bench player is probably the role most suited for Julius, he might excel again coming off of the bench.

Trading a first for a pg in a year where we have a high draft pick and the draft is loaded with pg's is definitely some old school Knicks fukkery. Mills was determined to set the team back with every move he made it seems.
