Haliburton is my next guy after Hayes for PG. Edwards -> LaMelo -> Hayes -> Haliburton -> Lewis -> Cole (this is based more on fit though as I still think he can be a really good pro plus he had to deal with Knicks level spacing at times).
I could see getting greedy if we can trade up and position ourselves to grab Lewis in the mid-round though. Toppin or Deni would be great gets if one slipped to 6,7,8 and that were our landing spot.
I've seen some breakdowns that made me more nervous about signing Wood than before. I'm not opposed, but it's not a top priority for me any more. I'd be cool grabbing Bertans for spacing and exploring the trade options that our cap space and fiscal uncertainty opens up before I commit to Wood. I'm completely down to head into next season with a roster that's built for our lottery pick, RJ and Mitch to be the feature guys. It probably means another lottery year but next year's class plus this year's FA class being weak turns that into an option that might make the most sense long term anyway.
I like Haliburton cause his stats are ridiculously efficient. I like Hayes too though and can see his value as a pick. His game is Harden’ish. LaMelo is definitely number #1 pg this draft. He does stuff that reminds me of Penny.
I am more Bullish on Deni than Obi. I think both could be great pro’s but Obi is PF with defensive issues long term seems like a iffy investments. He not a good defender at all.
I definitely think the knicks could move up to right outside the lottery in this years draft. Everything about this draft says people are going to try and trade out and talent will be up and down the order.I could see the Celtics pick 17 is gettable with the Mavs 2023 pick (if we wanted), I also could see the Wolves trading 16 and James Johnson because they need cap space.
The only real question is should they use assets to move up in a weaker draft. Next year’s draft is so stacked in the lottery it might be worth it to combine our pick and all the Mavs picks to move up a few spots. I am seeing mocks that have Mannion, Ramsey, and Lewis there at 27 this year too.
Share the breakdowns on Woods. I know he isn’t a great defender of stretch PF’s but I assumed his game was solid beyond that. I figure his own three pt shot and size would actually force most teams to adapt to him.
