You wanna know what made Knox good offensively? When his parents were telling him not to wait on the wing and move without the ball. He's regressing offensively badly even with high efficiency in shooting. Defensively, if he can't read the screens, he looks terrible. He needs to have this beat into his head for him to step up.

Nah I don’t agree (naturally), the constant flow of turnovers started before he checked in the game and continued due to what I noticed seemed to be that unit not being on the same page on sets. There was a lot of confusion on where players were supposed to be, for example most evident on the last play that unit played together before fiz called a TO. Ben Simmons got a steal on Taj only because he was 1. trying to direct traffic with a live dribble. 2. Our players were out of position.

DSJ is trying to get into real game shape (went from back injury most of preseason to two weeks out after the second game of the season) and develop chemistry with a lot of new guys. These sequences are gonna be annoying but necessary for long term benefits. Fiz played him too long on his first time back and the kid was comfortable sprinting and jumping full torque the next time out. DSJ will be fine, but I suspect up and down play for while and I hope to God that they don't let Payton's return interrupt this developing continuity. I'm not mad at DSJ at all, the first half defense wasn't great but it was good enough for that unit. The second half, I think a bit of fatigue kicking in and playing in a mixed group at first threw him off.

First you say you wanna trade Payton and now you saying you hope he don’t take minutes from DSJ.

I’m sorry breh but we both know Payton on the fast track back into the lineup when he back. Perry boy ain’t riding no pine:mjlol:

In regards to Frank, man every time he do his thing be it defense or offense, I’m out here like a proud father:mjcry:

Being one of the dudes who was pulling for him since he got here and through thick and thin and all the bullshyt they doing to him. Now he got a real chance and it’s showing, I’ll always reference that week or two were the starting lineup was Frank, Dot, THJ, Vonleh and Mitch and they was cooking till Fiz fukked it up.

Definitely agree Frank gotta command the offense better when Randle and Morris get to they bs. But I think it’s a Fiz thing mostly as I’ve seen both Frank and DSJ cross half court and pass.

And for that same reason I’m still gonna pull for Knox, it’s still too early to give up on him. Let him get reps in the gleague like a few people saying. It can’t hurt.

I know it's hopeless on the Payton front :mjcry:...He's got 9 more days before his next evaluation and then he'll have to get into shape. I need DSJ to close the door by that time because any slip-up and whether it's Perry or Fiz, someone is gonna be pushing to get Payton his minutes.

On Frank, I feel you 100%. He's looking like a great example of why patience is so important. A lot of guys don't realize their flashes of potential but plenty develop into something solid and once in a while they make a leap and just keep improving. When we especially consider young cats, this ish is KEY. I remember old debates about HS players after the rule first changed and I was surprised at just how many of those cats came in looking bad but became good players and a chunk of them just kept growing. This goes for Knox and Frank and Barrett actually, but those first couple of years are damn near the equivalent of college play for a lot of guys. That patience can be REALLY rewarding if you can wait it out and we've been in the position to wait and see for years now.

Knox could be that. Frank is starting to look like that. RJ...he's so ahead of the curve at super young that I'm extra hype for him. I thought he'd be another project because of his jumper and right hand, but his strength translated way more than I thought and I slept on his IQ. His right hand finishing has already ticked up in recent games too, it's crazy. I think Knox needs a lot of work but has a LOT of time to get there and we have time to wait.

25 wins is different if Frank, RJ, Mitch, DSJ and Knox are getting significant minutes and getting us there from if it's a rotation with predominantly the vets. It's way harder to watch a team like last season where you know that 2/3's the players have no future with the team. I don't mind seeing these kids go through some ups and downs even if it hurts us sometimes. The end goal isn't 30 wins in 2019/2020...it's perpetual 45 win teams from 2022 to 2028 or something with a real hope that we can get that chip. I know a lot of heads will say "damn that's too long" but we're still only a three win team and look at the enthusiasm shift as the team shows growth...We can get there...a Cole Anthony lucky draft lottery would accelerate it too.

Yea, this.

I am actually happy that the biggest "I believed in Frank" voices, atleast on this forum, aren't on some a$$hole "How the fukk do you feel for doubting Frank, fukkboy!?"

We just want the kid with a Knicks jersey to do well and we saw something in him. I hope the people who have been on the "Frank is a myth" train are happy as well. Or nah?

This is the elephant in the room.

And it's not an indictment on Dennis. He started solid. He just needs to tighten up like every else needs to and we are on our way.
Gotta admit i thought about shaming the Frank doubters but for what though? Have i never been wrong before?

Of course Ive been wrong before. I just wish the Frank doubters were more respectful instead of insulting the few who believed in him, and questioning our basketball iq

But ill let it go, seeking revenge will only divide us up and i prefer us Knicks fans be in unity

:salute:

by the way you talk, it sounds like you think we'd have a better record if you were the head coach:ld:

We'd be 4-11 if I were the head coach.

As far as Frank goes, I'm really happy to finally see him have a positive impact on the game when he is out there, and based on our roster, I want him to play 47 minutes a night. That being said, based on past championship teams, is there a player comp or example of a team winning a title with this type of player as a starter? If not, then we'll just have to hope he sets the precedent.

the annoying thing about Frank was people comparing him to players that have been in the league for years or who were 3-4 years older than him.

I always compared him to three guys. Dejounte Murray, Lonzo Ball, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

All players with similar age, physical profile, and playstyle :hubie:

This is all I want, I just wanna see the time and patience for the kids. They’re the future, invest in them so we can actually compete in the next few years.Give them the bulk of the minutes every night and play them together.

Yea, that shyt was and still is annoying. How you comparing him to Mudiay, Burke and the people the year before that I can’t remember. Those people should be better, they’ve been in the league longer and have gotten their minutes.
