It's not about wins and losses, it's about controlled improvement. Knicks weren't expecting to be one of the best teams in the league or even a for sure playoff team. They just expected to be better than the worst with the pieces assembled. David Fizdale was fired because outside of being friends with the players, he wasn't accomplishing much as a coach.



During the press conference that was made after 10 games, they made this statement:

"We think the team is not performing to the level that we anticipated," Mills said, "or we expected to perform at and that’s something that we think we collectively have to do a better job of delivering the product on the floor that we said we would do at the start of this season."
