Giving up a pick to get rid of a player who is likely gone after next season isn't a great move. Especially if we're getting back Terry Rozier of all players. That trade should be a straight up swap of players if anything.

Yeah, I honestly don't hate Rozier and he closed the season pretty strong. But it's two guys with similar roles (the man) making similar money on teams with similar records. I'm not giving them a first to swap our overpaid role player for theirs. Randle's contract is basically expiring anyway.

Elton Brand is considered a prime candidate to become the new General Manager of the New York Knicks, per Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News.

Brand is the GM of the Philadelphia 76ers and is under contract for the next season.

The current GM of the Knicks is Scott Perry, but he is expected to leave, since both he and the team have contract opt-outs after this season ends.

“According to a league source, Elton Brand has been targeted by Rose as a candidate for Knicks GM. Brand, 41, is currently the Sixers GM and is under contract next season, complicating any designs of bringing him to New York. The source said Rose wanted to see if Brand was dismissed after the playoffs,” Bondy reports.Elton Brand reportedly a prime candidate for the Knicks' GM job | TalkBasket.net

Had me ready to go on a rant for a second :mjlol:.

On another note...I've legit been thinking about how good a Obi/Mitch front court could be in 3 years. Maybe Lewis slips and we grab him at the back half of the round.
I don’t want Obi at all. He’s too old and can’t play defense.

It depends on who's available when we draft. Obi/Mitch pops to me because Mitch can cover for the defensive shortcoming, Obi can stretch the floor and athletically, they'd terrorize teams. 7,8,9 is the range where I think he starts to make sense for consideration.

I thought it was an April fools joke...

that’s fair. I saw him going top 3-5 in some mocks. I’ll admit tho, in the right circumstance he has the most Donovan Mitchell potential (over performing his draft spot). I think I’m back on the “i only want Edwards” train. I think he’s a star. I’m willing to bet on the hope that he was tinkering around this past season. That his shot selection won’t actually be that bad and he’ll drive a lot more in the league. I don’t fault college kids for not risking their NBA bodies for free.

Yeah, I've got Edwards on a tier all his own. I can't see passing on him if he's available. Everything after that is pretty cluttered and unpredictable, especially without March Madness and some more visual data to work with. This draft is gonna be hard to predict. I agree on Obi having a good shot to overperform his slot...Brandon Clarke came to mind fro me in that; I see a very high floor and his ceiling isn't low just not as likely to be reached as other prospects that might jump ahead of him.

Very different players of course and Obi will absolutely go much higher; but I just mean in how I rate tiers and risk. I woulda taken Clarke at the bottom of the top 10; same for Obi.

I honestly think LaMelo is our guy :ehh:
Yea i have no doubt he’ll be good but i don’t love him like everyone else does. He looks like an elite role player to me. I have him comfortably behind Edwards, Hayes and Deni. I even like Maxey more than him.
