PF/C. Starts at 4 and slides to the 5 when Mitch is off the court.
:scusthov:

He's not a 4...and the fit next to Mitch would be awful... Better than Randle sure...but not by much.

Edit: Him being our center when Mitch is off the court would be ideal, but then we'd have to beg the question, why are we paying Al Horford to be our backup 5 when he's better than Mitch. No no, there are definitely concerns fit wise when it comes to Horford which differentiates from a CP3 acquisition. I do agree with most of what you said...I just think that (if we're just talking from a development and fit standpoint) you are much better suited acquiring a stretch 4 with switchable defense than Al Horford.

I get what you are saying but Thibs is the HC. That has repercussions like we probably aren’t looking for a stretch 4.

In theory maybe Horford and Mitch could work, they don’t us usually operate in the same spots offensively. Also Thibs like Big front courts. I don’t think they want a Stretch 4. He has historically gone with Taj Gibson as his 4 (on all his teams.....) and players with more offensive skill like Noah, and Kat at center. In theory Mitch would take the Taj role in the offense and he would leave the scoring from the elbow that KAT and Noah did to Horford. Mitch could rebound and has the speed to guard almost all PF’s Even on the perimeter so Horford would be the center in the system. We would be slaughtered by teams with strong bigs but that’s only a handful of teams.

PG - ?
SG - RJ
SF - ?
PF - Mitch
C - Horford

Horford would actually help this team a lot.

He’s a unselfish team guy, high I.Q., his game is based off fundamentals not athleticism and he keeps in shape he could still be serviceable for a couple more years.

He spaces the floor, he’s a great passer from the elbows and can even push fast break, he’s decent in the post and face up, and he’s a solid defender all around just not a strong rebounder.

Both Horford and Paul are the type of veteran players who would have a big positive impact on this team.

He'd help the players for sure, but I don't think he's covering the types of needs this roster has to immediately push for a playoff spot. CP3 might not even be that, but it's easier to see how his playmaking could accelerate everybody (especially assuming a stretch 4 is added). With Horford, I'd still want to see the primary ball handler spot addressed before projecting his impact on the win/loss record. Generally, I've thought he was on the verge of done for a couple of years now so the Philly debacle looks like legitimate decline to me.

I'm not really opposed to taking him on though. I like the slow and steady thing with how depth can be built. I just think the Knicks future stays a question mark until they get a quarterback that can play to everyone else's strengths. Horford's passing plus a good PG draft pick though...that could be interesting. LaMelo of course but also Killian, Kira or Cole would be hella interesting having Horford's passing ability and IQ to work off of. It could ease their transition.

terrence davis wouldnt have done shyt on the knicks as it was constituted....coaching and roster.
it's easy to say he was better on much much less usage.
I don’t even know why @ISO is a knicks fan dude talks so much shyt about his own team. Sound like screaming a.

it’s ok to be critical of this franchise because it deserves the criticism I’ve never heard any optimism come from his mouth. About anyone :francis:

He’s a better shooter and defender than R.J. and an older high I.Q. guy. He can play. He’s not on R.J.’s level as a prospect of course but he got rewarded for contributing to a winning team.

I guarantee he wouldn't have been on the list with the same production if him and RJ switched teams. :unimpressed:
