So I've been reading some twitters and it seems like the narrative is Hayward is trying to come here and be the star/man
GTFOH w/ that shyt
I'm not trying to watch another season of RJ in the corner while Thibs force feeds broken down injury prone Hayward to get some meaningless wins
You don't build your team around Gordon Hayward

Knicks should just trade RJ now I already know what's going down this season :snoop:
Hayward passes the ball though. Let's not make him out to be a blackhole on offense

that's not the point
What is your point? Don't sign anyone and roll out the same shyt as last year? Barrett is a second year player who will be starting alongside Hayward and can grow into the role hes projected to turn into. If this was Westbrook I could understand you thinking hes going to stand in a corner, but it's not.

from everything I read in the off season, it seemed like the Knicks were starting to focus on building around RJ and making him the man of the team
Why else draft the kid at 3 if he is not going to be the cornerstone of your franchise?
How good will we know he will be if he is constantly regulated to the secondary/tertiary/4th option role while watching inept players who think they're stars running the show?
We saw that bullshyt last season w/ Mr. 360
RJ never had a 30+ pt game because of him and Payton and he could have had several
We are really going to waste another year of RJ's development by focusing the offense around Hayward, someone who is not close to being a first option or even a second option? He has become overrated and is injury prone but it's the Knicks so they probably think this is some amazing move

I guess I just have a different outlook than you do breh. I dont think anyone is confusing Hayward to be some superstar player, but what he would do is take the pressure off of Barrett while he grows into the player we think he can be. I also don't want to see him not getting touches but Payton is gone and we have a new coach so let's see how it goes. I just don't see Hayward stunting his growth. Russell yes, not hayward.
