Folks (younger) really don't understand how SERIOUS No Vaseline was bruh....

Summer of 91' NWA had dropped the HARDEST most popular album in the country everybody was playin. Dissed Cube on record, had everybody:damn::gladbron::ooh::ooh::ooh:

Cube already got Boyz N The Hood under his belt, wrecks that shyt comes through later the same year and drops Death Certificate....no innanet, no leaks, first time everybody and they mama hearing that shyt from state to state the day that album dropped...the looks on folks faces, interviews, magazines, DJ's.....everybody was trippin. The album was already about to shake some shyt up, but to get to the end of the record and hear Cube go in the way he did on every member......that shyt was monumental to witness.

If you was a NWA fan, NV really had you questioning the shyt Cube was spittin putting everything into perspective.:pachaha::ohhh:
When No Vaseline came out, it was like Ether times 5:wow:

No Vaseline came and went. He rode on them, they seemingly ate it and moved on.

:what:

No offense but you sound crazy right now. NWA themselves admitted the song fukked them up. And I don't mean in the movie. The scene of them listening to it was added to the movie because they were getting asked about that song for years after it came out. I remember Ren was in The Source around '97 trying to promote his album and he was still like :mjcry: "Cube got in our asses man....I could've came back but I decided not to".

To say NWA "ate it" is wild hyperbole. I'm :dead: at "it came and went". It was the most anticipated diss record in history up to that point, from one of the most anticipated albums, from one of the biggest rap artists, directed at the biggest rap group. There was nothing "come and go" about it.
