my initial reaction was it was gonna fuel his not givin a fukk even more and the world was in for a lot of middle fingers and :pacspit:

then he died and i was like damn as much as he rapped predicting an early death i never actually gave much thought to it really happening so i was caught of guard when it did

A lot of kids, adults and old heads cried when Pac passed from what I seen and remember.
I truly doubt that any hip-hop/rap artist today would get the same treatment as Pac if they passed.

As for BIG death, is wasn't on the level as Pac.
It was sad, but nobody around cried for him like when Pac died.
Maybe it's because I'm not from the EastCoast?
But after he died it was more like a celebration,
With the release of Mo' Money Mo' Problems,
It was feel good music at the time that was needed.

Pac ran America,
BIG ran New York.
That being said just like someone stated how certain DJ's would diss artists from other areas from not being EastCoast is wrong,
Karma would now explain how the EastCoast is not relevant in more than 10 yrs.

Forever peace to both.

I remember my sister goin crazy when Pac died same. As she did when Eazy E died....I just remember my auntee who we wuz livin wit at the time gettin a phone call and yellin out "omg 2pac died y'all!"...and it caused a commotion,my sister fell out on the floor....my eyes watered up,I said watered up nikka:mjpls:...I went back to the back room and started swingin like Trey on Boyz in the hood at the air til I calmed down:russ:....then I stormed out the house to go tell other nikkas who might not know and while walkin id see other people talkin about it....I had a stick in my hand hittin the ground:damn::....went to my homeboys house and told him then we went to his boys house and ended up standing around for hours talkin bout what we wanted to do to Biggie and Puffy, and how "we gon get em" even tho we wuz kids...then we started freestylin dissin badboy and the east coast, and when it wuz over we wuz like "damn we shoulda wrote that down:whew:"

Went and sat down and played Pacs music the rest of the day, nobody had the entire collection so we had to get it from a grownup,I reember my auntee actin like her collection all of a sudden wuz irreplaceable and priceless collectors items:snoop: but finally let us borrow em.

Got back to school and nikkas wuz still hot about it,shyttin on biggie and puffy,if we had a NY nikka in the school he mighta caught a brick to the head that day:whoa:...females wuz talkin bout how they husband died and wuz cryin and consolin each other:sadbron:

I remember tellin people I love you a lot that day, realizin life wuz too short...Pac bought us all together for a few days talkin about the tragedy, kinda how 9/11 did new yorkers...for us it wuz 9/13:sadbron:

People thought he was superhuman, fam. He got shot the second time and people were like:ehh: he'll come back and make a HELL of a "Hit 'em up 2":gladbron: Then reports (not internet, but RADIO) were slowly coming out he wasn't doing well. The day he died my uncle got married....and yep I shed then tears. It was surreal.

And I think when he got shot everybody did think he would live, sum reports wuz sayin he wuz stable,we didn't know what that meant but it wuz explained to us that meant he wuz gon be fine....and from there we wuznt worried like ":whew: I guess real nikkas really don't die:ohhh:"

People wuz celebratin like a fool when biggie died tho,it wuz like when sadaam got taken down and people wuz pullin that statue down...we wuz kids but grownups wuz too...a lot of ignorance back then just cuz u couldn't just log on and get the whole story for yourself,it wu word of mouth and if innacurate it could take a while before the true story got around....I guess same shyt happens with the internet too,but at least u have the option to find the truth out for yourself people just choose not too....back then u had to just go with what majority of folks wuz sayin....and majority of folks wuz sayin Biggie and Puff had sumthin to do with it:manny:

I was young, in middle school. That shyt hit me kinda hard. I don't think I'm ever gonna forget when I heard that shyt on TV.

Then when those unreleased bootlegs came out, they had me fiendin. I still have the original cds somewhere. I played that makaveli 2 (the lost album) probably more than any other album ever :whew:

I remember everybody being like "again" when we heard he was shot and NOBODY thought he was gonna die....NOBODY it seems odd now but everybody was kinda 'lol' about it not because we didn't understand about life and death...but because it was 2pac....it just didn't seem real that he could die. we all just knew he was gonna bounce back. When he did die it was just like 'whoa' I remember the vibe people had being real dark.....My cousin was a huge 2pac fan and caught a case fall 96 shooting some kid that tried to clown him....The energy in hip-hop had changed and the golden era was over.....as far as rap other than Nas, Fugees, Wu and this new cat Jay-Z I didn't really fukk with rap until 98...depressing time.

I was 13 in the 8th grade living in rural Oregon. Hip-hop wasn't huge in Oregon so what I knew about hip-hop was from MTV. I remember Dear Mama getting played on MTV and loving it. I was at my house watching tv and MTV News coming on saying that Pac had been killed. It really didn't hit me until months later going through his catalog that I realized that we lost such a great artist.

I was in Tower Records buying Tribe's- Beats, Rhymes, & Life when I found out Biggie died. I knew Biggies catalog better then Pac's so it hit me harder.

MTV News was our internet back then. "Ten to the hour, every hour right here on MTV." I remember always waiting to see what sort of news they would have.

Pretty much what the other westcoasters said. In LA I got the news from my cousin. At first we were like :ehh: "that nikka gon brush them bullets off again" then we heard he died. The first reaction was :ohhh:, then sadness then it was anger. People were furious and blamed NY and BadBoy. I just remember hearing both bloods and crips plotting. They wanted blood.

When that nikka biggie came to the westcoast we pretty much anticipated he was gon get it. I didn't think he'd get killed but I knew he'd either get shot at or get hit. it was pretty much mandatory.
