I didnt know shyt about hazing till I got to college.
I marched in an HBCU band and they haze for every damn thing...(sections, what city youre from, music frats, etc). One day they asked me "yo staticshock, you gonna do it?" I didnt know wtf they were talkin bout so I said yea. That night some upperclassmen picked our dumb asses up and took us to this old head's crib off campus.
They gave ya boy the beats
we got hit with paddles and boat oars. They had holes drilled in them so they wouldn't have that much air resistance while being swung..one of the nikkas was a baseball player and he marched in the band smh
After that night I said hell nah fukk yall and never went back. My ass was literally purple and I could hardly walk or sit down for a week. They could have said what they wanted to but I still got my letter. shyt was already hard and time consuming being in a HBCU band, I didnt need that extra shyt.
A lot of bands dont do that shyt anymore though thank God. FAMU band got suspended for a whole year a few years back after a student died as result of band hazing..Southern University has gotten in trouble a few times, but besides those two you really dont hear anything about it.

Lol I'm more a get my degree and get out kind of dude. Was never interested in clubs, frats etc. I don't need to feel like I belong anywhere. I think it's sad that these kids can't look at something and feel a natural spider sense that maybe you should take a pass on this hazing bs.
College nikkas will literally become murderers just to feel like someone's superior and to see how far someone will take abuse to join their organization

your section(trumpet, tuba, trombone,etc)
your city frat..New Orleans(N Phi O) and Atlanta (Red Dawgs) has unofficial band "frats" that you can get hazed for..there are other cities but I forgot the names
and you can be pledging Phi Mu Alpha or KKPsi, which are official music frats.
then say you become drummajor your jr or sr year...you gotta get hazed for that shyt too

All that hazing ish is c00nery. When i was in undergrad i accepted that stuff as normal but looking back im glad i didnt oledge because that stuff is unaaceptable. Folks picked up that mess from white people so i hate when they try to tie D9 to African secret societies because aint of that nonsense going on.

The difference between these two is that one is for singers (choir) and the other for musicians (band), right? Is there a traditional rivalry between these two orgs? I don’t really know anyone personally in either.
