If you actually listen to what they're saying during the probates (or if you can actually hear them), they are reciting information about the history and values of the fraternity or sorority they are pledging. The vast majority of the pledging process is memorizing all of the information. Hazing is a tool that use (and some overuse) to get you to learn all that information... and the stepping in the probate is just entertainment to give people a reason to sit there and listen to them recite information.
Aigh I see ya point but still why do they go thru all that just to be accepted :russ: whats so secretive about initiation :mjpls:

Not true!! Fraternities provide great opportunities to establish a brotherhood. Respectfully disagree with this!
You have to pay people to beat and torture you for you to call them a brother? With a brother like that who needs enemies. Glad I was always an athlete which made me a part of the most exclusive "fraternities" wherever I went.

Again clown, you have never been in fraternity ; so who in the hell are you to tell someone what's a real brotherhood?:childplease:

Take that BS somewhere else:camby:

i know what isn't a real brotherhood....faggit ass lames who don't know each other from a can of paint, fukk each others girls, and act like their hard on a college campus.

anyone who joins a frat is a fukking loser, or did it cause their dad was in it. unless you're white, frats and sororities hold little to no value. it's for people who can't make friends...you literally have to pay them to be their friends....fukking laaaammmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeee

Any good fraternity members won't do anything to actually degrade you. The worst anyone should get is hit with a paddle. Other than that it's like boot camp really. Remember those people who join fraternities to be "cool"?... those are usually the idiots who take things too far. Plus some of them wear it as a badge of honor that their pledging process is really difficult/harsh.... with that said. Not all chapters haze anyway. And post-college, most people don't even care.

So you spent all that tuition money just to not do anything fun in college? :scust:
Pretty much. Only fun i got out of it was some p*ssy :ehh:

So in other words you don't know how to balance... many people can find time to go to class, hit their labs, ace their test and still find time to do social things on campus. Hell it'd most likely be 1-2 hours on a Friday or Saturday night. I find it hard to believe the frats on any of your campuses you were at never posted a thing regarding a step show or party. I find it very hard to believe. Maybe you were just ignorant to that part of college and that's cool cause you were in a whole new country and what not.
College is school 1st and foremost but is also an experience.
Did i mentioned i worked full-time while i was in college?
I didnt have no scholarship. I never received a penny from "financial-aid". I made all this happen on my own. My typical day was work 8 + hours then head to class or vice versa however my schedule was set up based on the semester.

So basically you were a lame in college that got no p*ssy and had zero social life :umad: :laff:
Nah you know me, breh. I dont do nothing if there isnt any p*ssy involved :shaq: I'm quick to say fukk money but p*ssy... :takedat:
Even in my military days. I didnt do a lot of the sh!t most G.I.s do. But made sure i got my share of p*ssy

What the black Greek stands for is cool. Some of these brothers really are about that black empowerment life, but a my university, them nikkas for the most part was a bunch of fukk nikkas who were trying to reinvent themselves to chase p*ssy.

:francis:

That's part of the reason why I'm glad I didn't get a chance to pledge back then. There were always guys who tried to change who they were after they crossed. That's OK to a certain extent, but at that age, it got out of hand. Guys were trying too hard to be someone they're not, just to impress peers, etc.

I wish that was the case, but I know of too many horror stories, including one that I can't even speak on that may become very big news, that are of the contrary. You're definitely right about the type of people who take things too far. I would recommend to anyone to wait for grad school to pledge (if you feel the need). These idiots running around in undergrad are truly an epidemic. Borderline sociopathic.

Some of yall have some serious internal issues with fraternities. Did yall have a bad experience or something?? Alot of unwarranted hate is always thrown at frats on this site for some reason.
I got stories that go all the way back to highschool...I went to a summer program at a PWI for kids excelling in science and math...one of the mentors was taking us around campus and somehow we got on the topic of fraternities....mind you I was a young dumb (frail) highschool kid at the time who simply did not know any better - so I shouted out "that's cool man! my dad was a alpha :obama:! 06!!".......boy was that a mistake!!!:bryan:..the mentor's homeboy (twice my size) was ready to physically attack me right then and there. My mentor had to hold him back and I will never forget the rage I saw on his face :dwillhuh:...at the time I could not understand why he was soooo upset - I was confused and my eyes started to water up :mjcry:...my mentor finally explained to me what I did wrong, but I could not understand why the other guy wanted to beat me up so badly :mjcry:
Also, when i got to college, upperclassmen nggas was ready to fight if you touched their fraternity apparel or one of the fraternity items in their dorm room :russ:....

It was just a lot of overall bytchassness with frats when I look back at my experiences....

Of course there are gonna be some fools who take hazing too far, but when the process is done correctly it's very effective at bringing a group of guys who may never have talked to eachother otherwise. It's meant to break u down and then build u back up TOGETHER...none of that gay shyt yall outsiders makeup about the process.

As an outsider you will only hear about the horror stories you won't hear about what a good intake process looks. It varies by chapter of course but hazing can be done correctly without anyone getting hurt

Yea yea u all got horror stories that some other nikka told you about his intake process. Every chapter is not the same and I'm speaking from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE as a fraternity member who IS NOT PAPER.

If you didn't cross the burning sands then you just won't get the lifestyle :manny:

I get what you're saying but I don't have any made up info. It's the real deal. it's sickening and sad what young brothers are willing to put themselves through, and more so, what a "brother" would do to a "brother". Older and senior members have either lost control or truly don't care.

And I'm sure there are plenty of "good intake" processes and there's nothing wrong with some physical work, but you and I both know a lot of these chapters go way beyond that. Way beyond. To each their own, but I hope you insiders take a long, deep look at what is allowed. And at what cost.

I get the lifestyle but I have people who I call brothers who will die for me, or at the very least, die with me. Most people can never say the same about a frat brother.
