Often times you'll hear deluded Nas stans say things like Nas being the most technical MC and sht....

When this couldnt be farther from the truth

Nas actually isnt even worthy to spit shine Em's boots technically and I will outline the reasons why

Nas lacks the ability to double time efficiently while Em can

Doubletiming is a high level technical ability that can only be mastered through many hours of practice and honing...u just cant get the ability to double time..it takes alooot of practice and Nas shows he lacks the ability to do so while Em can

Nas lacks the ability to flip words and play with words at the level Em does
Nas has never been much of a player and flipper of words but more of a "metaphorical" kind of rapper which is not really a testament of technical ability
Nas doesnt portray the level of ability Em has of playing and flipping words...

Nas lacks the ability to maximize flow variation to its full potential..
Being able to create and switch through flows seamlessly in a song is a very technical ability that Nas in his 20 years of rapping has never mastered
Em makes him look like a peon in this aspect and its not even funny

Now Nas does have some qualities over Nas like his storytelling(which is not a technical aspect), his odd vocabulary(again which is not a testament to technique) and his obscure metaphoric language

But that doesnt help his case

So there u have it folks

Nas is a peon to Eminem in the technical realm of an MC

My conclusion is this:

From a technical standpoint of rapping, the act of putting together words in rhyme form, eminem is the best.

From the business standpoint of hip hop, being a marketing force and catering your music to the changing demographic, however dumb they become, Jay Z is the best.

From the standpoint of pure artistry, taking chances, baring your soul, evolving and adapting Nas is the greatest.

I would agree for the most part. Em is probably one of the best with wordplay, metaphors, and internal rhymes. He is more versatile in his deliveries, Nas' is always pretty much the same. And yea as you mentioned Nas is a better storyteller, and he kind of makes more obscure raps and seems more poetic/deeper to me. A lot of his music has more meaning imo.

But I really don't care about the ability to switch flow or rap in double time. That's not a positive to me. I'd take Nas' straight forward smooth flow that actually sounds good over all of the different horribly deliveries Em has tried using/changing since Relapse.

Hey thats great but i made this thread cuz there seems to be a few Nas stans who believe that Nas can see Em at a technical ability when that couldnt be farther from the truth

If u feel Nas makes better music u can feel thats great but my gripe is towards ppl who say Nas is the most technical MC or that he's in the same league as Em on a technical level
