One bad thing about the next generation consoles is Blu-Ray

The PS4 should have allowed for 3.5" hard drive upgrades...that pushes the maximum up to 4TB

Considering how massive the XBOX One is, the extra real estate wouldn't have hurt...thus the max allows to install afterwards on a PS4 is 1TB

This "NEXT GEN" feels the most lackluster compared to others to me for some reason...just so behind what the PC is doing now.

You're actually right, that will suck. Especially when you want to play the game out of the box. Plus they will charge you for cloud space when your hard drive fills up. .

No cloud space is free on X1, PS4 I dont know.

Problem is that the are few laptop drives that are more than 1tb and those have a larger form factor than the ones that go in the PS3, and seeing how smaller the PS4 is, it's going to use the same size as the PS3...

The new systems have much much more ram and the drives are much faster than the one in the ps3.
The main reason for the installs was to stream data from the hdd and disc at the same time because the ram was so anemic, which had the effect of having to constantly dump and load new data into ram. This will be less this gen, at least in the beginning.

you probably don't have Playstation Plus do you? free games monthly plus game save data plus mandatory installs is gonna fill up that half a tb hard drive they give you very fast.

if you pull out an older game you might have to delete a title off your hard drive just to make the space to install it.

I do have Playstation Plus.
There is no way most people have time to play a TB of games breh. Period...As it fills up, trust and believe there is shyt on there to delete that you aint playing. Most game downloads will be less than 15gb

I liked the idea of being able to buy a game from the store and then use it as a digital title. Now I'm expected to download 50+ GB for each game if I want to enjoy the benefits of digital

just read on Gaf Via Twitter somebody picked up Knack and it's install size is 39 GBs basically its looking like you'll be able to install 10 retail games at a time if you don't have anything else on the stock HDD and it'll run out of space.
