I think it will. I don't see them giving it to a horror movie and PTA will have his "it's time" narrative after 30 years of making movies
It’s Hamnet and Sentimental Value that I’m more afraid of since, not to discredit Sinners, most of us know how the Academy feels about horror and those are big BP contenders. An OBAA sweep would go hard tho. Greenwood hasn’t won an Oscar yet either, which is fukkin’ insane.

I'm not sure they're going to give Chloe zhao 2 best picture and director Oscars in half a decade. Plus fennessey said filmakers hate it even though critics love it.

I see SV maybe getting best international

I’m only partly skeptical because the Oscars have done strange things before, narratives be damned, and I could just as easily envision Fennessey and Co. on a future Rewatchables episode of this flick at awe talking about how the Academy got it wrong.

This has to win best picture now.

This will be PTA's Oppenheimer.

Thats what they’re saying

I was hoping Sinners would be this year’s Oppenheimer but it looks like Ryan Coogler might have to “settle” for a Best Original Screenplay while PTA sweeps everything else.

If this film does even decently at the box office its wrap for everything else.

This movie probably winning best picture, best director, original screenplay, best supporting actor (Sean Penn), best sound editing & best cinematography.

Not original screenplay as its a loose adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s Vineland novel so he’d get Adapted Screenplay and HOPEFULLY leave Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler.

Other than that, based on the universal praise this film is getting i’m fully expecting this year to be PTA’s “Oppenheimer”’year, where he gets all the awards he should have gotten years ago in one fell sweep.

Also don’t rule out Di’Caprio for Best Actor, he’s due for a second Oscar and there’s no one actor so far this year whose been undeniable.
