Only heads up I’ll give, is the movie really takes its time building up yet at the same time, the score ala Oppenheimer helps with the flow of the film.
shyt went by so smoothly. Jonny’s eccentric score helped me get into Bob’s paranoid, fried out of his mind headspace and I appreciated the film letting some key scenes breathe on its own.

Yes! That was the biggest thing I took from the film, it wasn’t edited & cut so perfectly. A lot of scenes reminded me of Magnolia in how they just took time to just be.

Still :mjlol: at Penn’s reaction when he saw Leo take a handful grab of Teyana’s ass through them binoculars.

“I’M NOT A HOMOSEXUAL!!”

Just the way he said it got me:laff: :laff: :laff: :laff: :laff::laff:
There were so many eccentricities in Penn’s character but when

he was in the bathroom with Teyana and she dropped low, got back up and he was still in heaven from the whiff of her chocolate bliss, that shyt had me :pachaha:

That binoculars scene had the theater ROLLING. Yooooo when he was walking in the desert after catching that faceshot :damn:

Oh my god can’t wait to watch this again on Saturday.

Thats what they’re saying

I was hoping Sinners would be this year’s Oppenheimer but it looks like Ryan Coogler might have to “settle” for a Best Original Screenplay while PTA sweeps everything else.

If this film does even decently at the box office its wrap for everything else.
Its on Ryan for not pushing for more money and getting a longer shooting schedule to make the ending (not the Klan scene) more epic. He settled so he gets 2nd (or whatever) place now.

And probably should have pushed to make it a 2hr 30 min movie as well.....we all said the battle should be bigger :manny:

PTA went all out with this.

For all the film’s comedic chaos, it’s the emotional resonance during that closing stretch that put it over the top for me as the runaway favorite for Best Picture, which is arguably PTA’s greatest strength as a filmmaker.

There would be nothing wrong with losing out to this. Sinners is still phenomenal and Coogler’s young, he’ll get his shine eventually. PTA was 37 when he made TWBB and that didn’t win Best Picture or Director due to how stacked the competition was that year. shyt happens.

…for a reason. Is there honestly a better time this film could’ve came out?

Though I do wanna know the lead-up to the moment where bro sat in his chair, contemplated, and wrote down “this p*ssy don’t pop for you” :russ: :wow:
