Maybe because alot of the songs 2pac got were originally done by other artists on Death Row and then given to 2pac. Death Row worked like that. If they had an album about to drop everybody focused on it.
As for the topic:
How Cube can be voted for in this is hilarious. No suprise tho. Most here go off name & most of yall kids basically. NWA, Westside Connection, own solo..forget it. Not even fair. The post-death-gangster-yet-concious-yall-praise-2pac-for-for-some-weird-reason is birthed from Cube (with influence of the likes of Public Enemy etc). This is why people called 2pac a copy of Chuck & Cube early on, especially from 1991-1993
Well they worked like that when Dre was at the helm . . after he left there was a dissension which resulted in split between the camps
In regards to songs being given to Tupac, you're talking to Wally Russell - the Coli's undisputed most objectified member - I am the first person in Coli history to bring this up. Check the record -
http://www.thecoli.com/threads/tupac-was-given-a-lot-of-hit-records.290427/ . The songs you speak of that were given to Tupac include
"California Love"
"Got My Mind Made Up"
"Can't C Me"
"2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted"
These song productions were essentially complete and then given to Tupac for him to put a verse down on them. Now what about the rest of the 27 songs?
All Eyez on Me represents the last project with the Death Row team working in harmony - some attribute Dr. Dre leaving to Tupac's reluctance to allow him to take credit for producing all of
All Eyez on Me . . so basically the credits are more transparent than
Doggystyle, Tupac refused to let Dr. Dre attach his name to the album for marketing purposes. Had this taken place we would know this album as a Dr. Dre produced record, ala
Doggystyle - Imagine if Daz got most of the credit for
Doggystyle - Johnny J is prominently featured as producer throughout the project
After this Tupac takes a new direction and works with producers from "the wack room" to create another classic album with a whole different tone. By Dr. Dre's standard protocol, Tupac would rightfully be credited as the producer of the Makaveli album . . because those producers were mostly working under his direction
