That might sound minor now because the Source holds no weight. If you lived through it, you'd know how big a deal that was. It meant you were the MAN. There's really nothing to compare it to nowadays because the way Rap is now, there's no holy grail. Closest I could compare it to would be when MTV ranks the hottest MCs in the game, and being ranked number 1, now multiple that by like 5 and that's what being called the "Rapper of the Year" in the Source meant back then

It was somewhat bias then but what isn't bias? Every publication, news station, website has bias one way or another. You're dealing with humans.

if your trying to compare record sales in early 90s to now pretty invalid argument were you around then? There was no youtube apple etc to spread garbage around then

2nd gold number 1 on billboards
3 gold again fans showing consistency can you same for t.i weezy? Has weezy even released a classic album same as TIP(I do like trao muzik) Will be interesting to see how much muddy 2 will sell in this day and age

I was in Jr high back then and although gold sales are not bad at all,is not the roof off what was going on BACK THEN EITHER. I already named albums that were released in 1992 that outdid red.

A little bias towards East then but Redman was deservedly the rapper of 1992-1993. Clearly. Only other person in contention was probably Dr. Dre (But he was always seen more a producer not a rapper) and Doggstyle dropped in Novemeber 1993 so it was too late to make it Snoop
