I consider him a pop star that does r&b styled music. He kept the pop appeal from his N sync days, but switched his style once he went solo. Plus he gets compared to usher a lot and usher is synonymous as an r&b legend.
Keep in mind that Chris was leading the votes for a good minute so it wasn't always a sure thing that jt was going to be leading the votes.
Of course everyone of these artists came up in different time periods, but they share similarities talent wise and influence(MJ). The music may sound different, but if the music is truly timeless music then the era shouldn't really matter.
And yet chris brown cant make a good album to save his life.ya'll do realize that chris brown is significantly more talented than jt right?

Bobby Brown is the dopest outta that bunch. his run wasnt long but that second solo album defined an era. was the next logical step after MJ male superstar r&p/pop stardom. everyone after is as influenced by him as they are MJ.

I don't know bout no 3 classics but my yellow brethren has 4 good albumsChris Brown goes with ease. It's not that he's wack. I think he's made some dope songs. He's the odd ball out because he doesn't have that one definitive song or album. With Usher, you have Confessions and songs from 8701, Confessions, or even albums like Looking For Myself and Raymond vs. Raymond that qualify. Bobby Brown has Don't Be Cruel and "My Perogative". Ginuwine has The Bachelor and "Pony". Justin Timberlake has Futuresex/Lovesounds and "Cry Me A River". These are songs and albums that have been influential on other artists and had huge impact when they came out. They were beyond just hit songs, but time tested.
The other thing is that besides dancing, there's not one thing that he's better at. Bobby's a better singer. He also at the very least co-writes and co-produces his own music. Usher's a better singer than Chris. His catalog is also better. Ginuwine's a better singer. He's also written and produced his own music. I give the edge to Chris over JT in the singing department. Justin writes, plays instruments, and produces giving him the edge overall.

Chris Brown is not more talented than JT.
. JT has co-produced and written for other artists including Rihanna, Beyonce, Madonna, and Ciara. Chris Brown doesn't write. No JT album is worse than Graffiti. And none of Chris Brown's albums are touching JT's best three. Out of everybody on the list, Chris Brown's Graffiti is possibly the worst album among them. Nothing he's released could be put against their best. If we're on the subject of culture vulturing, let's talk about how Chris Brown helped Guetta destroy modern R&B as we know it.

If JT wasn't white, he wouldn't have as many votes. Plain and simple. Most ppl opened the thread and went "Vote cac no matter what". At least some justified thier vote with comparing the talents, etc. So
