Peace Drake, I think he told us all he had to say on his first mixtape and album...

Since then he had the weekend to write most of Take Care and Hush / Quentin Miller to write on the last 2 CDs which lead me to believe he has nothing else to say or rap about himself.....

I see growth with both Cole and Kendrick while Drake is emailing Quentin Miller beats and telling him to send him a verse back....

I respect everything Drake has done so far, but if he doesn't drop anything else going forward I'd be perfectly fine with that

There are lots of rappers with Soul in their music.

Kendrick right now is clearly making a run as a sort of people champ. You may not like PBAB but it clearly has been the most impactful album to come out this year.

Taking the writing thing out the equation, Drake is the most popular rapper out, sure, he's an of the moment dikkrider but then again so was 50 and no one batted an eyelash. Like it or not hip-hop is pop at this point and time, and it has been for a long time. This is just the side effect of being a global phenomenon.

Like I said, if you take away Drake, who fills that void?
Who says it's a void that needs to be filled? If Drakes not around the entire landscape of Hip Hop is different. He caused a shift when he came in the game, a shift that started out great, but has only resulted in the fall of mainstream rap. You can't say "if you take him away, who fills the void" because if he's taken away all of the things he's caused go with him. Hip Hop looks better without Drake imo.

This thread doesn't reflect reality
:scust:drake fakkit stans disgust me!!
This is a hip hop message board... "Reality" is all relative...Drake being the least favorite among people that list hip hop as their favorite genre is actually pretty common place..
:salute:
as far as my opinion,i listen to drake the least outta the three,so drake gotta:camby:(and he can take his stans with him)

Another thing. And the most obvious thing.

Drake has peaked as an artist.

Cole and Kendrick haven't. You're not getting any better material out of Drake going forward. Partially because he paints himself as such a personal artist, and now we know he doesn't write 75% of his rhymes.

A part of what made Take Care so great for me, was the fact that it felt like him. All him. You can't recapture that feeling and that picture if we know you don't write your own shyt.

He's peaked. Cole has gotten better with every album, and so has Kendrick. Drake has been on a steady decline quality wise since 2011.

don't know what's dumber the question or the poll results

two of those names write their own rhymes, what the fukk is wrong with y'all?
Ya but when u ur self are listening to the music how does that affect u?

Meaning the question is who gotta go, basically asking u who's music is a non factor in ur life..

I think it does, only because of the type of artist that Drake is. I haven't listened to a Drake track since I found out he doesn't write his own music.

That just means u way too invested in these nikkaz lives...when I hear drake"s songs and bars I dnt think " :wow: Drake going thru it with these bytches"
I think " :wow: it be like dat sometimes"
In other words I apply it to myself, I dnt care bout dese nikkaz lives..make music that I can relate and live on I'm Gucci I'm not tryna know these rappers, jus know em enough to where I can relate

I'm not so sure about that. Drake ain't the first rapper to have songs written for him nor will he be the last rapper to use more of an R and B base in his music.

I don't disagree that Drakes out put has declined but I just think that people are using Drake as the scapegoat for what ills the genre is disingenuous. I think people like Future and most of these new syrup sipping zombies have hurt the genre far worse than Drake ever did. But now that I think about it maybe losing Drake would keep the discourse a little more honest, and this goes for stans and haters.

Drake consigns those syrup sipping zombies. When you're the guy at the top, it's your job to play Sheriff. Certain things don't get introduced to the mainstream if he's not trend hopping on them to stay relevant.
