One of Destiny The Taken King's quests is exclusive to Red Bull drinkers

While we knew it was coming after Red Bull accidentally confirmed Destiny's The Taken King, the energy drink company has hit go on its official site, revealing an exclusive Taken King quest. The "epic, new quest" is a "never-before-seen, multistage mission in The Taken King that will test the speed and strategic abilities of Destiny players in new ways."
The quest will be exclusive to Red Bull via an access code under the tab of promotional cans that can be entered on the site and requires The Taken King to be able to play. Drinkers will also get a one time consumable Bonus XP buff that will increase XP gain by 50% for 30 minutes and each marked can of caffeine will include a code. The XP boost will be available from the 1st of July, while the quest will be launching with the Taken King on September the 15th.
Bungie says it's "comfortable" with the price tag of Destiny The Taken King this week after it was revealed that the expansion will cost $40, but fans don't feel quite the same way. This exclusive quest for Red Bull drinkers isn't going to help matters if this multi-stage mission is a significant extra. While the quest will only be exclusive until January 1st 2016 there's no word on Red Bull promotions outside of the US.

What is this foolishness? :what:
These companies are finding more and more ways to nickel and dime their customers. You got people buying Red Bull cans now to unlock parts of the game? :childplease:
I'm from the crowd that says "If you don't like it, you don't have to buy it" for the most part, but this is incredibly corny to me. We just gonna start giving away xp boost codes at McDonalds with every large vanilla shake now?

Bungie/activision don't give a fukk.

They spent 100mil on this game and they're gonna milk it for every last dime.

Destiny fans lost:smh:
I don't know if this is accurate because I don't keep up with Destiny, but did you see that the new expansion supposedly costs $40.
So if you bought the core game for $60, plus the season pass $20 (I think), now you have to pay an additional $40, for a total of $120 for the "Full Destiny experience"?
Meanwhile a game like Diablo 3 continues to add content years after its release for free. Sure, when reaper of souls dropped it was an expansion, but it included the first game and was a one time thing. They don't hit you with the cost of a season pass, microtransactions, and then an additional price for more levels. They just keep adding content to reaper of souls.

Destiny still gets play after everything else is done. Lol!!!
Millions still play it :yeshrug:

But Destiny lost tho....:camby:
I don't want this to become a debate about whether or not Destiny is worth it. There's an official Destiny thread for that. The purpose of the OP was to point out the corny nickel and dime tactics. Buying a can of Red Bull for more levels. :stopitslime: This may be cool for people who already drink red bull on a regular basis, but for people that are fans of the game, having to go out and buy some crap you don't even really want just to get something for a game you really like is whack.

How does that go down?
Once in a blue I'd do a remy and redbull and it's good.
Never knew of folks mixing vodka with it.

Tastes pretty good to me on ice. Decent vodkas don't really have a strong flavor so it's basically just a red bull with a liquor flavor

That's not even the worst of it all. There's exclusive content you only get if you buy it all at once now. So people who have been buying it piece by piece have to Re-buy content they already purchased if they want access to everything.

Don't know if its bungie or activision driving these decisions, but they are shytting on their fans with every move they make on this game

New players will be able to get everything for 60 in September.

They are definitely milking this franchise out though, because even after the Taken King drops they are dropping 2 more DLCs after that, and there's no "Season Pass" for regular players to buy to just get all the content when it's available. But this Red Bull news isn't even the worst news coming out about how they are rolling out content for Destiny... the Eurogamer/Luke Smith interview that happened at E3 will give you some insight on the turmoil that's going on with the community and Bungie/Activision's practices.

:ohhh: So if I understand this correctly. For fans of Destiny that bought the game at $60 and then the season pass at $20 for a total of $80. If they want to play the full expansion, they have to fork over an additional $80 for The Taken King expansion for a total of $160 to play the full version of Desinty? :what::scusthov:

Basically, if you want to play Destiny in it's entirety you have to buy this then? :scust: And there's no way around it either. Even if you bought the game on release day and purchased all the DLC?
