WOW. What a way to give the finger to everyone who pre-order or bought the game brand new at $60.
I bought it for $20 at Toys R Us not too long ago. The game is cool overall but extremely repetitive and a lot of the systems, like inventory, and loot, were done poorly. Decent game overall though. This cash grab is inexcusable. Gamers should definitely boycott this expansion to send a message.

:ohhh: So if I understand this correctly. For fans of Destiny that bought the game at $60 and then the season pass at $20 for a total of $80. If they want to play the full expansion, they have to fork over an additional $80 for The Taken King expansion for a total of $160 to play the full version of Desinty? :what::scusthov:
There are 3 different versions dropping of The Taken King. For people who have everything up to now, there's just the new DLC for 40, then there's Destiny's base game and all the DLC for 60... and then there's a collector's edition with all the DLC and Destiny with exclusive emotes, guns and accessories for 80 dollars that you cannot get unless you buy it.

So it's completely optional, but it's retarded because they are making people buy content that they have just to get exclusive content. These videos below go over it in detail.

And all this is after the fact that they lied about the scope of the game and purposely removed things from the retail disc, just to sell as DLC.

Total clusterfukk of epic proportions, but people still hate EA and Ubisoft:smh:
I agree. When this game was first announced it was widely being compared to world of warcraft in terms of it being an MMO. Then once the game launched you find out that you only see 3 - 4 people at a time in the open world and you don't even really interact with them.

Maybe someone that plays Destiny regularly can shed some light on this because I'm just going by what I've read for the most part.

@ThiefyPoo plays this game I think. How do you feel about the way DLC and expansions are being handled with this game?

It's a shame that's how they are handling it. I hope other companies don't try to copy this business model.

TYRONE GA!
New players will be able to get everything for 60 in September.

They are definitely milking this franchise out though, because even after the Taken King drops they are dropping 2 more DLCs after that, and there's no "Season Pass" for regular players to buy to just get all the content when it's available. But this Red Bull news isn't even the worst news coming out about how they are rolling out content for Destiny... the Eurogamer/Luke Smith interview that happened at E3 will give you some insight on the turmoil that's going on with the community and Bungie/Activision's practices.

So do people that already copped the deluxe edition with DLC last year don't get this new Expansion?

In interviews before the game was released they said you would be exploring the universe and how they were building a world and lore as big as Star Wars. They even implied there would be some sort of space combat or at least that you could fly the ships.

We got a lazy Peter dinklage for lore and loading screens for ships:francis:

Some of the environments shown off at e3 ended up being DLC. And some of them were still on the disc as people were able to glitch into them through bugs in the code.

Destiny went from my most anticipated next gen game to fukk everybody involved and fukk destiny 2 for me. And I'm not even usually sensitive to cash grab type stuff, but this shyt right here:scust:

No.

There was never a "Season Pass" for this game. And like I said, even after The Taken King drops in September, there are 2 more DLCs coming. The thing is, millions still play this game daily... and average 3 hours per session. They've created a beast in terms of community, so even with how bad this roll out is, regular players will continue to fork out the bread for this game.
