aight so you have 2 different convos going on in here: 1) the dlc milking of bungie/activision; 2) the game being worth it (even though you said you didnt want to make this thread about that, it has turned to that)...i'll address both:

1) it's bullshyt what bungie/activision are doing with this new expansion....the fact they were gonna make day 1 players have to purchase everything again to get exclusive shyt was beyond ridiculous...and then their 'solution', charging $20 for it is just as ridiclous...the first 2 dlcs cost $20 each, and there is no way in hell you can convince people that getting 9 new things for characters is equal to the dark below or the house of wolves price wise....as much as i enjoy the game, i will only be copping the taken king, fukk getting that exclsuive shyt....as for the redbull deal, i dont care cause that shyt will be available for all come jan...if i really want to play it, i can cop some redbull for the codes and give the drink away...

2) is the game worth it? hell yea....yea, a lot of the criticisms about the game when it initially came out were correct...and some of them are still correct (main one being bungie seemingly only 'fixing' the bugs/glitches, etc that benefit the players)...but the one thing bungie did get right with destiny: the game is fun as hell to play...they nailed the gameplay and mechanics of the game, and made an extremely fun game....which is what gaming is all about....once you start playing, you find yourself playing for hours cause it's just that enjoyable...and with the shyt they keep adding to it (Trials, weekly events, poe, raids, etc.) the game is def worth it...if you held out on copping it, getting the $60 taken king version would be a steal....

You also said you're cool with what they are doing.

I brought up how the Crucible has been Control and other variations of TDM (Skirmish, Rumble, TDM with vehicles) since launch. They've added Trials which is dope, but why did it take them a year to add a variation of Capture the Flag? It's not like Bungie doesn't have experience with multiplayer games/modes. And that knew Mayhem mode is another TDM with abilities and supers on 10.

The new subclasses for each Guardian Class only have 1 new grenade, no additional jump system etc... All I'm saying is, if you're going to release something a year later, and advertising new subclasses, I'm expecting a completely new class without recycled things from other classes that have been in the game since day 1. That's all I'm saying.

Key words in all of that are "I'm expecting". That's what YOU expect.

Capture the flag could've been getting polished and balanced or whatever else. Don't know and don't really care since that isn't a game mode I play anyway. And, what other types of jumps could they had added that wouldn't have just been some gimmicky useless shyt? Jump is fine as it is now. I don't know about the grenades, havent read anything on them as of yet.

Are you cool with the notion that maybe, possibly, a lot of this stuff was done prior to launch?

You mention, CTF could have been getting polished, then turn around and say, I'm wrong for expecting more variation in a subclass that they are releasing a year after the game came out. I'm being objective, and I've already came out and said I'm copping The Taken King, I'm just bringing it up that the shyt is coming off shady with what I've seen about this DLC.

Yes, I'm expecting a completely new subclass. The classes have 3 grenades, 2 of which are from other classes that we've been playing with for a year, and 1 new nade. All of the Codex slots are the same, the jump system is the same, I'm looking forward to trying out the new supers, but like with the other subclasses... they play completely different from one another, they don't borrow the same shyt from other classes in the game (like they are now)... so going off of how they have been handled so far, YES I was expecting more.

And it's on the devs to come up with the stuff that isn't useless/gimmicky. I know that Titan players wouldn't of minded having something that could rival or counter Blink Jumping that the other classes have.

I didn't say you were wrong for expecting anything and I don't know where you got that out of what I posted. You're wrong for expecting me to have the same expectations you have, what you want is cool but I don't expect or want the same things you want.

That whole "in the game already" shyt is nothing but rumors and speculation, so I'm not even going to go into that nor would I even care if it was. I don't know why you and others expect people to feel the same way about this as yall do.

If this doesn't meet your expectations then do not buy it. What's so hard about that? from what I'm reading, it meets my demands and $40 or $20 price tag doesn't matter to me, that isn't really a significant amount of money in my opinion, especially when I factor in how many hours I've played and will continue to play so....

I don't expect anyone to feel the way I do. I'm simply explaining my sentiments to you. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm not wrong for that, and you're not wrong for not caring. I explained why I felt that some of the stuff being released is on the lazy side of things. Instead of just complaining or shytting on something, I took the time out to explain why I feel the way I do.

The stuff about portions/modes and other things being in the game isn't really rumor or speculation. When the game first dropped, I really didn't look into much of that because I enjoyed the game anyway. Now that we're approaching a year into the game, it's evident to me that they held stuff back to fit their schedule of how they are doing things. It is what it is. If more companies start doing this though, I know I won't be investing much into them if at all.

Fair enough

I wouldn't be surprised if they held back content, Cod releases map packs a month or so after release that have been finished so that's par for the course when you fukk with AAA activision published titles. They're gonna milk this for every penny it's worth, it's up to the individual gamer to decide whether they feel the value is there or not.

But at the end of the day the positives outweigh the negatives in my honest opinion and my main focus has always been the gameplay which arguably is the best in a fps ever.

This is probably the most I've ever played a game :wow:

Hopefully the next iteration of the series makes that jump to 60fps, but we might not see Destiny at 60fps til next gen
:mjcry:

Game is still one of the best looking titles out. You can tell the attention to detail they put into these environments when they designed the maps.

Until they stop releasing content on last gen and focus completely on this gen then I don't think we will get 60 fps so maybe destiny 2 next year, that being said I'm cool with the thirty for now.

How could you play it for this long.

No shade, but i just don't understand it. You been doing the same shyt since the beta. What makes you keep playing it?
Simple answer is it's the first co-op focused game I've played in a long ass time, that also has a good competitive multiplayer aspect to it too. It's basically Borderlands with less story, better shooting mechanics, and competitive multiplayer

I could go deeper but I ain't tryna sell you or anyone else on the game at this point. If you are interested, cop it and join the coli thread and run with the 20 or so cats that are on it all day and night. If you're not interested, and out of the loop as to what makes the game great, don't een worry bout it brehs.

Yeah, and to add to your post.

The Multiplayer is solid, and even though they kept it basic with the modes the gameplay is fresh and deep to the point where it has kept people playing it for this long.

People call the game repetitive and dismiss that it's a Bungie developed multiplayer game. If you play any other multiplayer game on the regular, there aren't any special events going on for them besides double XP. Destiny mixes up the playlists and it seems like there's always another event coming around the corner to get you back on it... Trials came out with that HoWs and it just brought a whole new sense of tension to it.

People love calling the game repetitive (every game is repetitive) but the kicker with Destiny is that it gives players a reason for replaying Strikes/Missions/Raids/Bounties... for the loot, for the experience. And it's up to the player if they want to do all the "repetitive" stuff, you don't have to do it. Destiny is here to stay and isn't going anywhere.

this game coulda been one of the goats

the multiplayer is fun as shyt but the repetitiveness and length of the campaign just made it just another decent game
