Only dude I really would like to hear respond is Joey Badass. Now obviously he hasn't yet reached that mainstream level but he is the only NY cat I feel could hold it down for the city on the mic, especially cause he actually got a NY style so it seems fitting.

He is tho

No he is not

he has flashes of brilliance particularly on his album, because I'm sure Dre was there to help him polish up his flow
his stuff pre-dre is lack luster. He improved greatly but there is still room for improvement
but even on this track his flow is off lot and he has a severe lack of control, because you can't do that type of rap over a beat like that

Flow seems fine to me

And flashes of brilliance seem better to me than the consistent mediocrity & menstruation of "hot" nikkas in the game

Like, Big Sean has NEVER been brilliant... the closest he came was when he had that flow everyone stole 3-4 years ago

And all the old nikkas fell off... Andre 3K doesnt even rap anymore and when he does its lackluster. Jay, Nas, both shells of their former selves... whose left???

Section 80 was better than GKMC.

As far as you saying he can't do that type of rap over a beat like that, well guess what, he just did

how Andre fall off his last album went diamond, I've never heard a lackluster verse from Dre, his flow is peerless, smooth, very professional
nikka came out in 94 and he still getting mentioned as one of the best even without being active
Jay fell off, by his standards, kendrick's album is better than the holy grail, but he still hasn't matched any of Jay's best work

and it wasn't good, he was off beat at times, and lost the beat
big sean did the same shyt even though he started off on the track fine

jay elec only person who rode the beat all the way through

to get intricate on that beat like that with flow, you have to be very careful, and take your time in crafting each bar
Kendrick was all over the fukking place and sounded like he was reading off paper, same with sean

Sometimes rappers stay on beat sometimes they don't, it's been that way since KRS came in the game. You just looking for reasons not to like this shyt

You don't know what you're talking about

when rappers go "in and out" the beat, its in a space in the beat the allows you to do so before the next down beat you have to catch on to

compare it to Skate Boarder going aerial and doing as many tricks as he can before he has to land perfectly on the ground

when you can't land correctly it sounds like mumbo jumbo, the flow is lost
thats where the phrase rappity rap comes from, becauses it just rappping with no sense of direction

i have no reason not to like, I'm just stating what I heard
I like Kendrick's music for the most part, but the way this shyt was hyped, it was a blow to my expectations
a serious one

Dre's last disc was 9 years ago :pachaha:

By that logic 50 is still relevant :mjpls:

Kendrick mite not have matched 95 Jay, but 2013 Jay doesnt match 95 Jay or 2013 Kendrick

We talking about right now not 1995

50 has released subpar albums since then so its not the same logic

I said Kendrick's album is better than Jay's holy grail
I'm talking about this verse
this verse is not that good, he didn't ride the beat, shyt was like a run on sentence, he was trying to hard to style out
when he just have just took his time and picked the beat apart

I'm just being objective, because the way this was being hyped I was expecting a great performance
