That's why I hate when people try to compare Kamala or Corey Booker to Obama. Obama had his flaws as Pres but as a campaigner those two are not in the same galaxy as Obama.

You're both right in your own ways. The thing is, it's a new day. First things first, let's give Obama his props. There will NEVER be another Obama. To find a black person who was as charismatic, clean, and a good speaker as him... never again.
But Obama also benefitted from being the first. So many of us never thought it would happen that we looked the other way on some things because we wanted it to happen. Now that that is over, the climate has changed. Social media is more of a force and people are really digging into these black candidates backgrounds. But OP is right, it doesn't help that Kamala and Cory don't have natural charisma. It's a crucial first step.

I doubt it. If this happens then it means the dems haven't learned anything from 2016 and will suffer the same fate.
With the way Trump is redefining presidential power and partisanship, it would have been interesting to see obama come in after rather than before him. I still he'd be the same and play it safe and try to appease both sides of the aisle, but it would have been more interesting none the less
