Damn brehs. As an old head, this legit upsets me.
This is one of the things that was lost after my generation. "The nod" used to be ubiquitous, but now young cats (I'm assuming you both are young, forgive me if I'm wrong) they just don't get it.
Brehs the whole point of the nod is that you don't know the person, but it's a moment of solidarity in acknowledgement of shared experiences; that's why you sure AS fukk don't give the nod to white people. That brother... even if you don't know him... that's your kin.
I remember being a kid and not understanding. All I remember is my dad told me, "When you see a fellow brother, you acknowledge him." I remember asking, "Why dad?" and the answer is, "It's just what we do."
Give the nod, brehs. It's what we do.
There was an episode of Blackish about it...
I mean... the "fatherless" thing is usually cringeworthy, but in this case it begs the question. Didn't your dad teach you about the nod?
If I see someone I know I give them the nod and dap or if they're too far away I give them the nod and point my finger in the air but I'm not going around giving the nod to every random black person I see on the street.
I'm lightweight trollingOh good for you. You really showed them.![]()
When you can offer me something, be it entertainment or money, we can talk. I won't be rude, but please, don't street harass me![]()
I said it before, I don't ignore nods or inquiries. I rarely initiate one though cause im not paying attention to folks like that.

I'm lightweight trolling
But im so far in ain't no turning backI said it before, I don't ignore nods or inquiries. I rarely initiate one though cause im not paying attention to folks like that.
I'm literally looking off in the distance most times. Its a different animal in close quarters. Its savage, actually, to ignore someone like that![]()

No my didnt teach me how to do a nod, I grew up doing it.If I see someone I know I give them the nod and dap or if they're too far away I give them the nod and point my finger in the air but I'm not going around giving the nod to every random black person I see on the street.

Thats cool. I do the same in those environments. Honestly I didn't even read the OP![]()
I especially acknowledge other Black ppl in school/work/all white environments.

So just exchanging pleasantries ain't shyt in 2016? Damn.
Millions of people around who likely won't mind, but I speak with a purpose, so it typically aint me.Most greetings are disengenuous. When you ask how some one is, you expect the succinct, postive or neutral answer. This happens to me at least once a week as I check out:
Me: Hello
Cashier: How are you?
Me:Good. How are you?
Cashier: *silence*
shyt use to confuse the hell out of me when I first moved to DC until I realized locals use it as a disingenuous greeting. Why the hell would you use a damn question as a greeting and then completely ignore the person?

Asking a question is engaging. If you don't want to talk a simple "hello" will do. But to engage someone and then ignore them is rude. Most greetings are disengenuous. When you ask how some one is, you expect the succinct, postive or neutral answer.
If he says his day is awful, do you want him to go on about it? What if your day was good and he sulking in your face?
You would be better off complimenting his work or something, even if its bagging groceries.
shocking, now you're back tracking.
you stay speaking out of both sides of your mouth![]()
Im saying whatever it takes to get the thread popping, stupid.

One moment I claim ugly team. The next I claim handsome.
One minute I say lets get this IG models. The next I say average girls FTW.
The exact reason I do this is to piss nitwits like you off when you have so much invested in this forum conversation.
I like @BlackPearl so I was telling her how I was treating the thread(but she dapped your post so now)
You, however, can interpret this shyt however you want. Now its on sight, cause you seem to be pressed about my behavior![]()
