Breh it takes 0.3 seconds and costs nothing. Nobody is saying you have to chop it up with a stranger, but shyt just acknowledge a brother. That means initiating too.

Think about it... when you spot a brother across the room, it takes MORE effort to avoid eye contact than it does to give the nod, and then he knows you're intentionally avoiding him cause he knows about the nod. If he's a coli poster, he's probably mentally labeled you as a c00n. You don't wanna be that dude.

Maybe it because young dudes haven't been in an environment where there is not a lot of black people at work. There is only 2 other brothers that work on my floor(and one of them is the supervisor). Every time I see one of them we make eye contact and give each other the nod. We communicate without talking. It like we telling each other these cacs be on some other shyt.

I head nod my brehs. In fact, I've noticed this small gesture is on the increase. Even a "how's it goin" to black strangers is more common these days in my experience.

Yesterday after I left the barbershop the guy in front of my car was paying the meter gave me the head nod I did it back and kept it moving. I see the usual fakkit c00n suspects in here saying they have a problem with it tho

It's a regional thing. I use authority when I speak to people. Just how I grew up. You don't speak back, you come across as a bytch or a wierdo to me.

I always give a head nod to another brother. Usually older brothers respond back or say something like "alright" "sup". Usually these young dudes be like or when I give them the nod. I generally acknowledge anyone regardless of race or gender but for another brother I definitely make it a point.

I nod my head daily to as many brothers as possible...That shyt is ingrained into me...My pops would slap the shyt out of the back of my head if I built up the courage to walk with him and ignore an elder or another brother...Jits don't really care for it too much but I don't give a fukk, they gon get one head nod...If I see em again, I keep it moving... You never know what another brother went through that day and he prolly don't know your situation...I show you love and acknowledgement and get it back that's strength gained on both sides.
