It’s true to some degree
Ever since I enlisted I met more people in the military who have not deployed compared to those who have deployed.
I used to work with a Marine who was an infantryman.
He talked about deployment like it was a vacation.

And when did you enlist?

ok so came into service 2000 most of us who deployed back and forth etc were all in before 2012 which was after the surge. Look at all of the more senior types...now if you catch them without deployments they definitely found a way to hide.

You can also add the NFL to this and how over the last 20 plus years how teams who relocate, get new stadiums and get stadium renovations to suddenly become good and go to superbowls.

It is all used to galvanize the fan base and ensure that they spend money and buy season tickets. To help the teams and league recoup money from the relocation, stadium renovations and new stadiums.

You can literally draw a timeline with a good portion of teams over the last 20 plus years. From when they reloacted or get a new stadium / renovation and them going to superbowls. From the Ravens moving from cleveland, the rams each time they moved from LA to St. louis and back to St. Louis. To the titans moving from houston to Memphis. To the bears having their stadium renovated and going to the superbowl. To the falcons getting a new stadium and going to the superbowl...and on and on and on. Its literally right there in everyones face.
yea cause the cowboys, raiders, chargers are lighting up the league. Your only examples is really the falcons and rams who were amazing at the time. Matt Ryan and Kyle shanny caught lighten in a bottle

and that season the rams literally went out and signed everyone preparing for a super bowl run.

Here's a sad one.

The Apollo 1 disaster...
It is well-known in the aeronautics/space community that the three astronauts aboard the Apollo 1 did not die immediately. Unfortunately I heard the recording of their last minute and they realized a fire had broken out and were screaming in pain when the tape cut out. I wish I had never heard it.

:mjcry:

The Challenger disaster...
The Challenger astronauts also did not die instantly in the initial explosion because they all activated their emergency breathing packs right after it happened.
