hmmm weird, I thought oregon was founded by a black man/settler married to a white woman. or maybe that was washington
anyways. ive driven the entire westcoast and south oregon and north north cali are pretty much racist land. its like sons of anarchy charming up there.

Today Portland is one of the most multi-cultural small cities our country has from what I saw.
The south and mid-west have always been racist and still are for the most part. In the same time period as the article in the op post and prior to the Civil War there was also racial violence in Chicago, Boston, and New York. It's not news to anyone.
Would you like to compare Portland to cities in the south today? I don't think so.

Im from Spanaway, nothing but black folks & some mexicans here & there. fukk north WA.
Because black folks are (were? stay tuned) hellbent on integrating with white folks. Civil Rights people took a lot of asswhippings but it mostly for the right to live next to some white people and go to a white school. And to give whites our money.
Even now they have whites-only areas but they're smarter about how they word that.
