I still do despite what you are saying. You don't have to be balling to get a decent lawyer who has time to work on your case. My brother for example back when he first started driving gave some dude he knew a ride from the mall but he didn't know the guy had stolen some stuff from a department store in the mall where he ran into him. Before they even made it to the guy's house they were surrounded and arrested. My parents went and called a lawyer up and was able to get my brother out of the situation with only a misdemeanor on his record and only 1 night in the county. Had he a public defender I'm sure he would have been in there for much longer if not convicted for stealing along with that other dude. Now my family by no means is rich but I know having a hired lawyer was the difference. White's tend to have the means to a least a decent lawyer to fight small stuff like that whereas blacks do not (or don't look into it at least) and end up serving time.
