Wonder what Atlanta would sound like today had that Interscope deal not gone south

probably the same. The deal went south because the shyt they put out wasn't poppin.

If anything we should be wondering what woulda happened if Witchdoctor or Coolbreeze blew up. Had that happened, they wouldn't have been fiending for a Waterfalls.

Of course that 17 milly hurts, but he made it clear he couldn't go on. I think he's secure with it. Looking back, Interscope prolly would've broke the deal anyways.

Lil Will never came out (though the album is out there..), Cool Breeze and Witchdoctor albums weren't big sellers and mainly recognized by southern/DF fans. Hell, Sleepy said it in the documentary, The Vinyl Room (Sleepy's Theme) ain't even come out on Interscope, they had to go to another label. Continuing with Interscope would've tainted their legacy IMO


Great documentary tho. Nitpicking, but I wish they would've talked about working with Earth Wind and Fire, Curtis Mayfield and maybe even their recent work

In the documentary he's sounding like it had to be done, but he even says that they could have been paid more... I'm just saying, considering how they got fleeced on their previous hits before the Interscope deal, I think he should of at the least got some kind of buy out or settlement.

They only got 2 to 3Ms out of a 20M deal, and it's 3 of them. SMMFH

Dope Documentary. The generosity Rico Wade showed to the Dungeon Family is amazing. Having a gang of nikkas in and out of your mama's house, feeding them, etc.

He reminds me of the RZA in a lot of ways. Both had a lot to do with putting on their crews on and both left a lot of money on the table by being fair and honorable with members of their crews.

i feel that way, but i kinda feel him though, more so on the goodie mob shyt though. it's like he held the goodie mob down, even after cee-lo left. cee-lo comes back and i commend him for doing that, but that trash ass production he brought ruined the album though. like rico said they need them, kast probably not as much, but goodie definitely needed his voice of reasoning for that last album. hopefully they work together again since ceelo has been knocked back to earth. supposedly they gonna be dropping some unreleased music too.

I agree. they should have seen the writing on the wall when kast starts producing hit songs on their second album. especially knowing that both big boi and 3K can both produce.
