-On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer radio show, Dave Meltzer revealed that original plans called for Dave Batista to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XXX.
As we all know, plans changed and Daniel Bryan walked out of the Superdome in New Orleans as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania XXX. In the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania, wrestling fans everywhere wondered how WWE could even consider an alternate scenario to Daniel Bryan overcoming “The Authority” to win the Championship in the main event.
It seems that the company’s vision of that “feel good” moment to close out Wrestlemania XXX wasn’t all too clear in the beginning and WWE did need convincing. Ultimately, those fans that supported the “Yes! Movement” got what they wanted and Batista turned heel.
We previously reported that Batista will take some time off following WWE Extreme Rules when he teams up with Triple H and Randy Orton in the re-formed Evolution faction against Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns of The Shield. In an update to the news of Batista taking time off, he is not being advertised for any events after Extreme Rules.
The original idea was that he was going to work through July or August, so perhaps his media schedule changed. It is even possible that he could have gotten another movie role somewhere, but no one knows for sure why the change was made.
It seems that for now, Batista is not being advertised anywhere including the European tour.

Maybe Meltzer is outta touch
