In fact after 2008, we've had a lot of movies getting tons of mainstream attention that depicted black people in a despondent light. Precious, The Blindside, The Help, The Butler, 40 Year A Slave, Django Unchained. I wonder what happened in 2008 to make people so compelled to put these types of movies out there.

Word I want to see revolt type shyt. I'm tired of these servants and bedwenching type roles.
Hollywood isn't THAT liberal. They like their Negros subservient and/or poor. They'll keep putting out the slave/bedwenching/House Negro/Mammy/Magic Negro extravaganza movies.
shut the fukk yo.

They are making fun of you and you are out here celebrating.
It's beyond me breh, and I believe if the film could get made with the cast he has in mind, this could go not only help get more black films made, but it would also get alot of acclaim and possibly open the door for more Black actors and directors other than the ones we know about.

It's really not that simple. Danny Glover has been trying to get a movie done about Toussaint Louverture for years. He had to go outside of the US to get funding for the movie. Almost no one in Hollywood wanted to help him with that particular movie. If someone like him with an extensive resume can't even get some basic support from his Hollywood "peers", what does that say?

I never said to not try. But there are people out there who have way more influence and connections than we do who are still struggling to even get a project started. It will be difficult. And it's an internet forum discussing the Oscars while it's happening. Did you expect us to devise a future movie project while watching the Oscars within a 3 hour time window? :aicmon:
