If you you have the Final Cut Pro version 10, not downloaded from the app store, doesn't work. has to be updated

The only app I've noticed that doesn't work is my Final Cu Pro that I downloaded completely by legal means

I have 4gb of ram on my late 2011(fukkers shoulda at least made handoff work on that late 2011 ) and it runs great.
I may get 16gb next year tho

Make sure you know what RAM you need to buy. You can check the type of Memory you have by clicking on the Apple logo > About This Mac > System Report > Memory underneath the Hardware heading

Hopefully this makes my macbook usable. Work bought me a macbook in April, obviously it's a 2012 model and it's straight ass. Can't believe the Mac store actually sold me on this shyt. That pinwheel stays spinning and you can't use imovie or final cut without frames dropping or it stuttering. If I had used my own money for this like most people for this shyt I'd want to kill someone. They'll be upgrading me soon hopefully so video editing becomes choreless. I have not been impressed with the stuff we have in office (imacs, minis, etc). I could have been as or less frustrated on budget windows machines. I guess I should have gotten the air or retina model but space on the HD was the concern
