Then when do we get myopic? I get what you're saying but shyt like this eats at my soul. Things need to change.
Yes it's a horrible situation, but one thing I know that doesn't help is adapting white-conservative narratives.
Their finger point is *never*, *ever*, for our benefit, and they don't give a flying shyt about this girl, or any other individual killed by "black-on-black violence". These stories get play because they
push an ideology. Case in point : I saw someone saying that Rudy Giuliani could be the answer. Yes, the anti-black dago architect of stop-and-frisk, and his bullshyt black-pathology narrative, is the answer to our problems....
And this isn't me downplaying violence, placing blame, or calling concerned posters a c00n (Honestly, the victimization surrounding being called c00n on this forum...very similar to the white-victimization of being called a racist. Like, it pops up before the conversation even begins, is usually placed to defend all henceforth accusations regardless of whether such accusations are warranted, etc. But that's a matter for a different thread.) But one of my main concerns with our people right now is our incapability to keep our eyes on the prize and stop being distracted by what outsiders are shouting at us.
On a national scale. On an historical scale. Winners don't self-critique and they don't concede They don't apologize. They don't admit guilt. We need to learn this...
If that means that I, or others, come off as though we are just shoulder-shrugging, that's unfortunate, because I want to create a society where these types of behaviors are less likely to come from young black boys. But I am weary when I see so many of us seem to be essentially dispensers of fox-news jargon. Because I see people saying "WELP, CAN'T BLAME POVERTY FOR THIS ONE". And then I see polls showing that
black people consider themselves more racist than white people. And then I see surveys showing that
black people think racism is a thing of that past. The narrative struggle is tied to the mental struggle. Whites already control our education. And they control most of the outlets of propaganda as well. I'd just like us to
be more tactical.
I've felt for some time now that two things that would instantly better our situation : 1) Our own political party & 2) Our own, national media company.
These entities work with one another, and our race as a whole works from there....we could really see some movement towards tangible goals. This ties into what I was saying above about blacks nearly always losing the narrative.
