It's moved past economic disenfranchisement now. As many participants in gang activity do not have to be or aren't poor.
I would say it's becoming a sub culture, but aa's just barely have a culture. We're still creating our culture. Our group is what, 50, 60, 70, years old? We're really young as a group.
It's moved because many of these bangers come from teen mothers who were so far removed from the American dream they couldn't even give their kids a glimpse of it.
Their great grandparents were disenfranchised...these kids aren't even aware they're disenfranchised.
Sort of reminds me how maneating is passed down in predators like lions. A generation kills and eats a person to avoid starving. The Cubs eat off the kill and get a taste. The pride does continue to hunt regular prey though.
The cubs grow up and for their own pride. They're much quicker to kill a human. Not 100% but they have that taste. They have cubs and their cubs eat humans more frequently. These cubs grow up.
Now human is REALLY on the menu. Would rather hunt human than regular prey.

What started as racism, continues to effect how things are run in certain communities. You need to get out the mind frame of "Blaming Whitey=Not taking personal responsibility". When we talk about outside factors effecting change, we're not telling people to blame Joe Six Pack for Tyrone pulling the trigger. We say, Tyrone should be held accountable, and he WILL be held accountable(he's gonna go to jail) but at some point the social factors need to he changed so that the next Black kid doesn't end up down that path.
All I've said is, crime is crime and that the term black on black crime is to marginalize the crime in our areas.
"Black on black crime" is a loaded term used to push a particular narrative while deflecting from systemic white supremacy. You can't talk about crime in the black community without talking about systematic white supremacy.
There is no singular mind frame.
I can acknowledge that white are part of the problem just as much as these black deviants.

Focusing on whites only is just as much part of the problem as the reverse. While clamoring to have whites to take responsibility which they have done for over 5 centuries....blacks need to do something in the immediate. Or blacks will continue to carry the brunt of this violence.
Tackling white supremacy is a long term plan...like decades even a century perhaps 2 centuries. In the mean time, something needs to be done now.
