I think its time to give it up my brother. This post only got 2 daps. Awhile back, this post would have gotten hella daps, but we are waking up now. Whether YOU see it or not, it IS a factor. Its casting a dark cloud over the black community. Its polluting already impoverished and impressionable minds. Nobody is saying "rap causes violence" directly. You are the only one suggesting that. I mean, if a gang member is willing to shoot 9yr old, or beautiful young models with full lives ahead of them, than I can't blame anyone for being ANGRY at the any youth in those neighborhoods who associate with gangs. And I personally wouldn't care if dude who killed this young lady and the other dude who killed the 9yr old boy were thrown under the jail for eternity. BUT, there are teens and gang members those neighborhoods who haven't killed anyone or even attempted to kill anyone and haven't gone over the deep end yet. What ultimatum would you even give them, that law enforcement hasn't already done? How would you or @thatdude901 convince a 12yr old who's stuck in poverty with no father, and neglectful mother, who's at the crossroads of the regular life and gang life to choose the right path? It's alot more complex than just "kill all the thugs, and stop coddling them". I don't know where people get this notion that black people coddle their degenerates. I guess there are a few instances in the hood, where SOME mothers may encourage their sons to slang. But overall all......

Many youth in gangs and commuting crimes actually come from decent families. I personally know guys...one I met his parents, dude was in college. But he CHOOSES to live the thug life. And I'm not talking half-assed thugging either. Will shoot you in broad daylight.

Same dude...we came up on legal work. The talk was good for a minute like he was going to work. That 3rd day he threw the work in the bushes.

I know this personnally, that many thugs had a support structure, but they chose to go live that thug life. Why...because it's glorified and gives you rank in the hood.

Middle class and upscale areas don't suffer this because they won't allow the culture to become engrained there. On top of police coming through and cracking heads.

In nice areas...the retards are shunned...not glorified and seen as cool or turnt. So that decay doesn't permeate the minds of their youth. It gets too bad and they move.

The disease has infected hoods. Past the point of washing the wound. Our hoods have gangrene, and there's no reversing gangrene. There's only one solution for gangrene.

It's tough to have to cut your leg off but if you don't the entire body will die.

US black men going have to put our gloves and smocks on and go do surgery. Identify those with just a little puss, wash and bandage them. The gangrene...we're going have to cut it out.

Employment opportunities depend on so many factors, including region. Where do you live? And you're 100% right. Some bangers are gonna bang, but there's always a route to how they psychologically got to that point. Question is, how do you stop them from getting to that point where they're basically institutionalized. Every parolee was a wayward teen at one point.

You don't know what is going on in the house! I'm one of those people you are talking about. It looks cool on the outside, but the inside is painful. It's a mix of the elders not being there emotionally, and society just being fukked up to blacks, to wanting money to get what YOU(not your parents) want, and peer pressure because if you grow up around people who are worse off then you, it will effect you.

To me, a lot of young people are hurting, but don't know it, so violence, and getting high is how they deal with it. What kept me from losing it, was my knowledge of who I am in this society, and also loving knowledge, so I was able to see things for what they truly are, instead of what I was being told from elders, and society.

I also believe stress is being passed down through our genes, and because we haven't dealt with the pain since slavery, it is building up to what we see today for certain groups of us. The alcohol, and the drugs, just bring the issues out.

It took my six months to find a job. It was a full time job just looking for a job breh.

Not once ski I think it was a good idea to pick up a gun.

When I lived in NY my first job commute was an hour and a half away. To a grocery store where I was paid under the table.

Going with the thread I do think music is a ig factor. During high school music good or bad) influenced every fiber of my being(talk, clothes, shoes, crowd etc.) if anything changing that is a start. I don't know what I can actually do but raise my kids a den encourage younger family members not to fall for the trap. And hope the helpless psychopaths die off.
