Outside of the internet, how often do you interact with Gen Z?

I swear none of you know any Gen Z’s personally …

They just don’t like fake shyt they’ve seen it all online and studied it so they know when you’re full of shyt … and they respond

Contrast this to older generations myself included who go along to get along most of the time …

You sound dumb
The true question is, who do y’all know that’s Gen Z?

Gen Z is 97-‘12

I be seeing y’all on here say a lot of out of touch shyt bout that generation

i work with a few Gen-Z folks on my team and I have met a few Gen-Z shorties in my personal life
also have nieces and nephews thats gen z

In terms of what @TEH said, the internet is largely distorted so that is a pretty stupid take. Their conception that instagram and tik tok = real life is part of the reason why they are and will only become more delusional and disillusioned.

I manage a team of Gen Z and hoop regularly with a group that is 30% Gen Z.

Yeah most these dudes commenting on Gen Z characteristics just don't interact with them.

It's literally like talking to 20 year old versions of myself or millennials I've already met.

Ite let me play devil’s advocate

I think we all agree Television, Music and media in general influenced society for decades

Why would the internet be different?

they're no different than any other kids just with more tools and way less patience (because why should they be if they have more tools?)

because the internet insulates and tailors messaging in ways that would typically only happen at a bar with a clear label out front would do

internet will convince folks they're not actually shut ins and closed off to people.

Other than them being more noticeable socially reserved, and earbuds in their ears for 24 hours not shyt has changed from previous generations.
Are some overdramatic?
Yeah, but we can find a mfer like that from 33-60
Is the LGBTQI shyt out of pocket?
To a degree, but let's not act like mfers weren't the Down Low was never a thing
and brehs been smashing nikkas in dresses since the days of Ma Rainey
the problem is we making the exact same mistake as previous generations
focusing on goofy dumb shyt
and not the fundementals
it ain't about being paternalistic
Look at these youngsters as your equal we all experience and in this shyt together
And go from there

Young people need to know someone out there is looking out for them. To be treated as human being worthy of dignity. Everything else is fakkit shyt meant to get people mad for no reason.

I work with a few. Rarely interact with the females outside of a few here and there and it’s usually on a romantic tip so my ideas about them are specific to the women.

The only thing I see distorted about them or that’s different than what I was dealing with is their social media habits.

Honestly I feel sorry for them because they were born into it and probably view a lot of tech differently than people that saw those tools develop. It’s not even the addiction, it’s what they’re doing with the tool now that they’re addicted. Truth is, most people wouldn’t escape the addiction factor as it’s designed in a way to be that way. It’s just the subjects and what’s on their minds that really makes me see how having some tools can be counterproductive if you’re not raised or trained to use them a certain way.

2 of my cousins are Gen Z and just moved to my city to go to school. There's a few I work with also. If they're adults, they're not that much different than millenials...the Gen Z kids (17 and under) that I've interacted with are from a different fukking planet.

But I'm 39 and I can admit I'm biased, so kids are gonna seem weird as shyt to me anyway.

If Gen Z is '97 - '12,

I mean how much different could they be from Millienals unless you're an older Millienal?

The later born gen z might be different
