Outside of the internet, how often do you interact with Gen Z?

I just got a part time job working around gen Z. I'm 33 and I honestly feel old being around them. But they're alright. Some can be socially awkward but not too bad.

They honestly don't seem any different than the type of young people when I was their age.

People love talking (especially about themselves) but a lot of times you have to initiate it.

If Gen Z is '97 - '12,

I mean how much different could they be from Millienals unless you're an older Millienal?

The later born gen z might be different

I don't think anyone is saying people in their early 20s are all that much different, though some are. It's the kids who are like 18 and under now mostly who grew up entirely on social media platforms that are starting to get weirder. I can deep dive this if you care to argue with me over it but I don't think it's a controversial take to say kids are more awkward now around people and in social settings than ever before and I've experienced it first hand with family members, other people's kids, etc.

I work with a lot of them. They're not as socially awkward as yall make them seem. However, I work in marketing, and that industry attracts extroverted people so my experiences with them may not be like your experiences with them
